Info on my shield??

Hey guys I recently traded up to a shield 9mm for a new backup piece. The guy couldn't find the box because he had recently moved. I don't have the sku# or the test fire casing. My ser # starts with HVY**** and I was hoping somebody had a link or any personal info on a year of manufacture perhaps. I'm sure this has been discussed a million times but I'd appreciate any pointers. Thanks in advance.

The serial # itself doesn't have a code for manufacture date.
Either Call or email S&W CS the serial number and they will tell you when it rolled off the line.

I got ahold of them and they were very helpful. Turns out mine was manufactured in March of 2015. Thanks
