I have an old s&w break action 38 5 shot revolver with no trigger housing.
I would like to learn the model and if possible the production year.

A lot more information would be needed in order to identify. A picture if possible. At least the S/N, and the information written on the top of the barrel, and a description including the barrel length, grip type (square butt or round or birds head), length of cylinder.

It is most likely a .38 Single Action (A.K.A. Baby Russion), a .38 Single Action Model 2, or a .38 Single action 3rd model (model of 1891).
