I have a Sieko Kinetic watch, need input on getting one of those desktop winders for it. It was a wedding present from my wife 17+ years ago.

I would wear it more often, but it is always dead.

I did send it to a repair man in Oregon a few years ago, he replaced the capacitor and some other parts as an upgrade. But because I don't wear it it never gets charged. I can't wear it to work.

Any watch guru's here to send me in the right direction?

I don't want some e-bay or amazon junk that quits or gets noisy while in operation.

Thanks, John

You only need it if you're alternating other self winding watches. Otherwise just adjust the time and date when you wear it.

No, I might wear it just once per week for a few hours... never enough to get it charged and to hold time until the next week.

I am unable to wear a watch at work, so it is seldom used.

I've had a Rolex since 1974 and it runs great and keeps perfect time... except it runs down if not worn for 24 hours.

Rather than spending some mega buck$ for servicing... I got this winder for $40 from Amazon this time last year.

It works wonderfully and I saved enough to buy myself a Beretta Nano.

A real "win-win" situation!

(At least that's the way I explained it to my wife.)

I have a Seiko kinetic myself, and I bought a watch winder. The problem is, the action to wind the watch is swinging if from side to side, and the winder goes around in circles. There may be some out there that work with the Seiko kinetic, but those that go around in a circle don't...it would have to have a side to side motion.

Do ya have a dog? Fasten it to his collar or tail.

Smile. Just kidding.

THIS is exactly the input I was looking for. Thank You.
Instead of a watch winder, I will wear my watch to/from work and while excercising (and that doesn't happen near enough:( )

And while the Connoisseur's Vault looks cool, I think I'll by a house instead ;)

As a watchmaker, I'd really, really encourage to spend the money on servicing it sooner rather than later. What you've described is a symptom of a watch long overdue for service, and when it finally stops you're going to find that it's a lot more expensive to repair and in extreme cases can even become unrepairable if run too long.
