Hey all, just wanna run something past you fine folks. Lil' back story real quick. So I have this slick semi custom 627-5 from Gemini customs that I traded an M1a for a year or two back. Great gun overall; shoots sweet, a pleasure to wear, smooth as silk, 8 rounds of 357, etc. But, it's just never done anything for me, ya know that warm feeling ya get when pick up a piece that everything just clicks with? I think mostly it's the style of this one, I dig duracoat but tan isn't my thing, and I even live in the desert! The barrel is another thing, Ive never cared for the looks of the angled under lug, the flats are neat but the angle just drives me crazy.
So here's the issue, a friend wants it badly and wants to trade his Kimber SIS RL for it straight across. Now I'm just not a semi auto kinda fella, well except for rifles but that's something else. So the plan is to sell or trade the SIS and fund other cool things, like a M1 carbine or another Garand or maybe a couple used Smiths that need some love? I'm thinking the money is there, the SIS seem to go for around $1100 lightly used and I think my 627 is worth about the same, but I'm really unsure. What do you all think? Should I just go for it and peddle the Kimber, or maybe sit on the Smith till a better option comes my way?
