inside or outside the waist holster ?

I use the Kestral which is owned by one of our members. However I prefer leather for comfort so I use a Wild Bill's No Such Agency for my issue HKP2K.

Jeans and a T-Shirt you will most probably want an IWB unless you wear tents as T-Shirts.

If it's going to be on and off, probably clip on would be best.

Obviously, many like them and I've never tried one, but how in the world is a kydex only iwb holster ever going to be comfortable? Doesn't the hard edge of the kydex dig into you?

No, it doesn't. I wear a minimal, single clip Kydex holster IWB, appendix, about 1:30-2 o'clock. I do have something of a belly. ;) I carry a Shield. Nothing pokes me. It's very comfortable. I don't know how it would feel carrying behind the hip, though.

I'm with HD, I find the hybrids with the giant leather backs to be bulky and difficult to attach and remove. Surprisingly a well designed all Kydex IWB rig when worn with a proper belt is very comfortable and very concealable.

I attach mine then put my jeans on. Only takes a second. If you do it the other way I can see how it might be a pain.

As far as hybrid holsters not cutting it I'm not sure about that. I use them daily for the last 6 years. At work I'm often climbing around under cars, between and around stuff. I have yet to break one

First......Carry everyday, everywhere you legally can. Selective carry is like only wearing your seat belt when you think you are gong to be involved in a wreck.

It seems that there is a lot of support for IWB, but it just doesn't work for me. If you carry in a quality holster, supported with a proper gun belt, OWB is very comfortable, and easy to conceal. Hanes makes a light weight Tee that can be tucked in and a button type shirt left unbuttoned and untucked is very comfortable even in summer heat. In the winter, a long sleeve shirt or a fleece vest will easily cover the OWB. I can carry all day and not even give it a thought.

Bottom line is that you are going to have to try both to see which you like.

X2 What he said ?

N82, Professional. Just got one. Super comfy. They say they are bulky but I have nothing to compare it to. Wore it for the past week and like it a great deal. I shopped around for a month before deciding. Did I say this thing was comfortable? It is.

i carry IWB in one of my custom holsters that i make. i hardly know its there. spare mag on the opposite side

It really isn't a problem with a well designed IWB like the PJ - after the temp equalizes I don't even feel the gun most times.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I recently picked up a new to me M&P 40c to replace my everyday carry gun which was a Taurus 709 Slim with laser. I carried it in a sneaky pete holster outside the waistband. I've already ordered one to fit the new M&P. I carried my Taurus for weeks around family and friends and no one even knew I was carrying until a friend asked to see my new smartphone I was carrying in the fancy case on my side.

My new one for the M&P should be here tomorrow if the Post office doesn't fail me. I'll upload a photo of it. The website is SneakyPete

Sneaky Pete Holster?

Looks like a good one. Anyone else use this holster?

after doing alot of online research, i decided to go with a iwb holster for my M&P 9compact from The Well Armed Woman website. you can't beat the price of about $50 plus shipping. they also have a owb holster that can be converted to an iwb holster by changing the clips--for not much more money.

IWB from Andrews Custom Leather. Appendix position.

Whatever you get, it must hold the pistol tightly. Stuff happens and you dont want it falling out at the store or in the bathroom. With an empty pistol in it, turn it upside down and shake it. If the pistol falls out, look for something else.

New to the shield thing . I will not carry that much but would like a holster for when I do. ? Do I want a inside the waistband or outside . I am a t shirt blue jean guy .
Looks like inside conceals better but not as comfortable. The shield it a tad big for the pocket.

thanks for your input.

OWB is the more comfortable route, while IWB offers greater
concealment. IWB also requires additional wardrobe because
you will need to buy your pants in a larger waist size (2" recommended).
I have several holsters for my Shield 9mm:
A custom IWB in leather.
A leather OWB, and my most recent find...
a leather Tagua 4 in 1(OWB/IWB/Cross draw/small of back).
The 4 in 1 would be my suggestion to you. It gives you
ALL the options, at a reasonable price, and lets you decide which
is best for you! :)

I really like mine. If the Post office delivers it tonight I will post photos of the M&P and the Taurus in them. I prefer to not open carry even though MO which is where I am from allows it. I prefer to not let everyone know I am carrying. This is very inconspicuous.

When I do want to carry inside the waist. I have a Tagua style that I carry in my mid back.
