...I would like to pose the question, what threads do you LOOK FOR and look at.

For me this is mostly based on the poster. I have a list of the members in here that I relate to and enjoy their posts (you know who you are. :D )

I know a lot gets past me especially when this forum moves along so quickly but I try to look at every one on that lists posts.

There are some times when I'm just in a strange mood and I am apt to click on a thread that I'd otherwise ignore. But I like threads about the guns I have or admire and I especially like the threads about food. Even the broccoli threads. :p :D

I also like threads about cats and dogs and other pets. And I really like threads with pics in them ESPECIALLY pet threads and food threads with pics in them. ;)

I like threads about personal experiences others have had both funny and serious. I also like it when our members post pics of themselves. Helps me get a better "feel" for the person and maybe feel like I know them a little bit better.

I follow too many of you around to list what I view. Therefore--I shall NOT list names because I know I would accidentally leave someone out. :D Anyway, as a wise man up above said at least once--you know who you are. :D

One person is ignored so--I can not read their posts.

"I have this old but mint S&W / Walther / Beretta / 22 target pistol I'm thinking of selling...."

"I found a deal on ammo at...."

And anything interesting that's political, which obviously isn't on this forum.

I like to read about shooting, particularly field shooting, personal experiences - hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, humor (there is never enough humor), handloading, history that others find interesting and want to share, travel destinations, pets (particularly dogs, though I do like cats too, and generally all animals), sometimes even the wife/girlfriend stories - which I guess are usually "humorous," or at least they should be. ;)

For some reason, I don't mind reading about the concerns of others, particularly if their parents, other close family members, or close personal friends are involved. If I can offer a little encouragement to someone going through a tough time, I consider it sort of an honor/duty to take the time to do it. I think most folks truly appreciate it.

I will ALWAYS remember Faulkner's post about his old veteran neighbor who passed away and the way he honored him. A very beautiful thing, and even though I don't know him, I wish I could shake his hand and thank him for a job well done. :)

What I detest, and maybe should have said so in the other thread, is people who take themselves too seriously - particularly about inconsequential things. Guns and shooting are a hobby for most of us. As an old friend says, "It ain't arms and legs!" I am just as happy to have someone make fun of my revolvers as I am to make fun of their Glock. Lighten up! Strauss was right - "Enjoy Life!" ;)

I look for threads with pictures and specific information about models that I might be interested in purchasing. I'm getting back into revolvers, and did not know a whole lot about all the differences before I sold the few I had many years ago. So, this site is invaluable to me in that regard. I also enjoy the history, personal stories, holsters, and just about all the sub-forums.

I am fairly recent to the forum, but in a short while I have found some favorite "scalawags" among ya'll, whose post I appreciate.

As for the forum members thread make-up I will say this.
While the subject of "diversity" and "diversify" in the corporate and social world outside this forum, sometimes make me want to gouge out my very eyes, and pour lead in my ears; the people HERE, present the very best, of being a "diverse" group.

I always read and respond to prayer requests, or posts by people grieving a death, human or animal. The wealth of support you folks give to people in crisis amazed me early on, and I'll always treasure your kind words and prayers when my brother died six months ago (it can't be six months!).

I enjoy the pet threads, especially the pictures. Bonus points if the critters are puppies or kittens. :)

History threads grab me every time. So do the ones about great weapons, aircraft or ships of the past. Paladin's fine thumbnail histories of famous guns are always of interest.

I read a number of sub-forums (sub-fora?) every day, but it's the splendid, off-the-wall humor in the Lounge that really gets me.

I like the music video clips, and enjoy threads about knives and other edged tools

Did someone say food? I do likes me some recipes and food threads

I like posts that answer an op's question. I'm constantly amazed at the degree and diversity of the knowledge on this forum. It mind boggling and informative.

I also gravitate to the threads that promise humor and levity.

Like shouldazagged, I always try to be supportive to folks in times of need and likewise, share in their successes and milestones.

I came here to learn so just about anything could catch my eye. I joined the forum because of my M&P 15 purchase so I read that thoroughly. But I will read a whole thread on something I have no knowledge of because that's a way to learn.

Being tucked up in the NE corner of the country I look to catch posts of those closer to me. Shared misery and all.

Obviously if I am looking for some item for my plastic gun or M&P15 I'll keep up with that thread.

I like em' all. At least until I read some. I don't care if the gun is metal or plastic, I have both, and its still a gun. That's why I came here, after all.

I guess you can cull out whatever you want on an Internet forum, since you're not really a captive audience, but I come here often just to chat about whatever. It actually feels like I'm with friends of like minds around here. I wouldn't tell my friend I don't want to listen to what he has to say.
Kinda hurtful, ya know?
If I lose interest in one, I'll move on, but I won't say that what they have to say is boring or stupid. I'll just keep that to myself.
Personally, a thread that criticizes other threads is walking on thin ice, I think. That's as far as I'll cross my own line.

There are some "wit merchants" that I look for. Even though I'm not a collector, gunsmith, reloader or historian, I enjoy reading those threads as I always learn something.
As Mike said, if there is a prayer request, I'm on it.

There are a lot of good people here and I try to listen to all of them.

Suffice it to say that, every day I look forward to jumping in the forum pool, deep and shallow ends.
