I finally got a little extra time today after work so I decided to install my new timney trigger. Totaly an easy task. Everything went real smooth and I didn't run into anything that is worth mentioning at all. Trigger feels really nice. I don't notice any creep but triggers always feel different at the range so we'll see. Much nicer trigger than the factory. I paid $170 and so far it feels like a great investment.

i just put in one of CMC's drop-in 3lb single stage triggers. Interested to see how you like the Timney. i think i paid $120

Hopefully it won't rain tomorrow and I'll be able to get out and fire a hundred rounds or so. I bought the 3lb trigger.

I am interested in improving the mil-spec trigger in my AR. Any downside to using an aftermarket set like the Timney? Will they last as long as the OEM mil-spec? I have had my AR for six weeks and have already gone thru a 1000 rds without much trigger improvement. Still feels a little gritty and weight is too high. Thanks,

I have a Timney in my Windham Weaponry AR. The difference between it and the stock trigger is night and day. Some of the best money that I have ever spent.

I don't know anyone who's run a timney on their AR for a long time. i do know though that timney has been around for close to 70 years and for the most part has an excellent rep. Trigger groups are pretty simple really.

I was just showing my rifle to my son to see what he thought of the new trigger. He has put probably 500 rounds down the pipe so he is relatively familiar with the rifle. the first thing he said was "Wow, there's no slack at all. It just clicks". And that's pretty much my own reaction. the weatherman is still promising no rain tomorrow so I should be good to go try out my new trigger.

1sailor;

I put a Timney in my AR project build - amazing difference. Well worth the investment in my view. Since I might be in the market for another one, can I ask where you found one for $170? I found mine at Brownells and paid $209...

My Timney in My sport makes a HUGE Difference for sure... accuracy is much better since the pull and break are so smooth

Its Funny when I shoot my Bushy C15 with stock trigger I am always WAITING for the trigger to break compared to the Sport

Big Difference you will like it alot

I installed the Timney 3# trigger in my M&P-15T. Huge improvement.
My only complaint is that my CMMG .22lr upper refused to work reliably with the Timney, but after sharpening the firing pin and cutting 1.5 coils from the firing pin return spring all is well.

Tried out my new Timney trigger today. I only fired 80 rounds but it was enough to show me that the new trigger not only reduced my group size but also made them much more consistant. Looks like it put an end to saying "If you don't count those two flyers that's a pretty good group". I was only shooting at a measured 70yrds but the groups were tight enough that with any more than about 5 rounds fired it is hard to tell just how many rounds in the group. That's shooting over a sawhorse bench (which actually works pretty well all things considered) with a Nikon P223 3x scope and American Eagle ammo. Nice trigger improvement.

Timney is by far one of my best investments. Of course mine is on my .308 bolt gun. I have it down to about 1lb of pull at the moment (with some work). 1/4 groups at 100yrds, works damn good for me.

Looks like their price went up to $175 but that's still a good price and shipping is free. try here. I just double checked and I guess I paid $175 also. Like I said though that's still an excellent price.
Timney Trigger 667 s 3lb Competition Trigger 667s Small Pin Brand New | eBay

I went to the eBay site and saw the auction has a "Make Offer" option. So, I made an offer of $165.00. The response I received rejected my offer but included a BIN (Buy it Now) price of $169.00. I took advantage of the BIN price and bought the Timney trigger for $169.00, with free shipping. :D

You should be pretty happy with it. I'm pleased as heck with mine. the 5 minute install time is icing on the cake.
