Installing JP 3.5lb trigger springs

Hey does anyone have a video or detailed instructions on how to install the JP yellow 3.5 trigger springs in the 15-22?
I have been searching and can't seem to find anything.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am considering ordering a set, and I know I can do it. Would just would like to see how before I go tearing into mine.

Hope my springs arrive tomorrow . My MOE with blue springs and DVE serial number did NOT like the 15 MIN. trigger job that was done exactly as shown. 4 or 5 FTF per mag at least using CCI mini and Federal Bulk and none before the job.

Yeah I'm not big on bending the springs. Never done it but have seen lots of success with it. Good luck, hope it works out.

Mine didnt do well with the mod to stock springs either, I have the J&P springs coming . It is really easy to change them out. Be carefull when you remove the Grip, 2 small springs and 2 detent pins will fall out. Other than that its a breeze.

Recently called JP and ordered a set of springs, telling the sweet young lady that I wanted to use them for in a MP1522, they took my order and shipped the spring that arrived earlier this week. I receive a set of JP 4 spring and had expected the JP 3.5 springs. So I called and a young man answered all of my questions, he explained that the 3.5 springs were no intended for rim fire and could lead to a lot of fail to fires, due to light primer hits. They are intended for use in center-fire also as those primers are softer. Now if it would only get warm enough up here to get to the range and try o it out.

Bearandoldman, well if mine come today and do not help with my light strikes I may need to order the JP 4 springs also. I hope it is an alignment issue with the hammer maybe after cutting one of the hammer springs back to 1/4 in. long as described in the trigger job. I will post later today if they show up.

Thanks for the heads up, looking forward to hear of you results. Like I said I have not had a chance to shoot the gun yet, but the trigger feels lighter than it was stock. Would like it lighter yet but do not want the fail to fire problems. Figured that could happen by cutting one leg off the stock spring. Do not really need a target trigger as I do not plan on using this as a bench gun, have 10/22's with lighter triggers for that use. Kind of glad that I called for advice instead of just ordering the springs and having a problem and then calling.

I have seen alot of posts about using the 3.5, this is the 1st time I have heard about using the 4's?

Go with the 3.5. Your not accually going to get the prescribed weight unless you use it with a jp trigger group. It says that on their website. I used the 3.5 kit and never had even one light strike and the 3.5 kit gave me just over 4lb pull.

I have the 3.5, and they have never failed. Easy to install, make sure you do the polishing.

I put one of my Rock River or ArmaLite 2-stage triggers in my M&P15-22. Just as nice in this rifle as the 5.56mm versions but this a plinker and a $120 trigger is not an expense I need.

I tried the "15 minute AR15 trigger job" with one leg cut from the hammer and reformed trigger spring legs. Rather nice.

I then tried the JP "yellow springs." Rather nice too, and not enough different from the modified springs. They're still in there, though, as it wasn't worth the 5 minutes to remove them.

No failures to fire with any of these.

Try the "15 minute" solution first. If you're leery about it just order the JP springs. Find a source that doesn't want more for shipping than the $9 price of the springs!

A video to install these?! Just look at what's there and put the new springs on the same way. If ya can't figure that out you need to question your kitchen table gunsmith abilities! The "15 minute" spring modification does not require removing them from the hammer and trigger.

The weather was a little cold yet, high 30's but the wind was very low and fairly comfortable to shoot a while. With the JP4.0 springs installed, the trigger was not bad although I would prefer lighter like my 10/22's but not really that bad for a fun shooter and not a bench rest gun, Fired about a 150 rounds with no problems, mostly CCI blazer and a box or Remington Thunderbolts and they all fired too and that amazed me. Friend gave me a brick and that was the last box to dispose of. Fired some CCI SV also and they had no problem either. So far things look good.

I decided to take out the FCG last night. It was a piece of cake. Didn't modify anything though just cleaned and inspected everything. Very easy to work on. I don't wanna cut anything so I will be ordering the 3.5 springs.

Hope they work all right for you, the guy I talked to at JP Rifles told me that they could lead to Fail to fires and recommended the 4.0m and they worked fine today.

So I will consider it a success for me considering I was get at least five per mag before.I am happy for now.

Well I would love zero FTFs but my brother just shot his brand new Ruger 22 and had at least 4 FTFs out of 50 . He was using Remingtons though. I have not tried the CCI minis with the new springs yet. If it gets worse again I may go to a heavier spring later. That is almost 99% quality firing with only 2 FTFs out of 150 for now for that batch.
