Interested in Pro 40 5" - frame question

I was told by my LGS, when I asked, that the pro series is the old frame design for M&P full-size. They said that the only difference was the back strap.
I do want to use the frame with my other M&P full size. I have a 9mm and an extra slide & .40 barrel for 4".
I can not see any differences just standing there examining the Pro40. (Not a CORE, just a Pro)
Somebody must have some direct experience. Please let me know what the differences are.

I never argue with "some guy at the gun store." My Pro9 4.25 and Pro9 5 take the same backstraps.

As far as I know, the only difference between the Pro and regular guns is the trigger. The Pro is supposed to have a trigger job done by the custom shop. The back strap is the same size, but might have a different texture.

There is no difference in the frame itself.

The 9/40 (non compact) frames are all the same.
