Long ago W.E. Fairbairn and E.A. Sykes, the guys that designed the Fairbairn-Sykes commando dagger, wrote a book titled "SHOOTING TO LIVE With The One-Hand Gun".
The info in it is largely based on their decades of experience working with the pre WWII Shanghai police department where they survived hundreds of close quarter combat situations fighting Chinese gangs in the streets and alleys of Shanghai.
Fairbairn also developed the specialized police unit tactics which became the basis of SWAT training and the technique of "Snap" or "Point" shooting with a handgun.
During and after WWII they both trained special ops military units and police departments.
