Interesting letter from D.B. Wesson to Ed McGivern

No doubt Wesson was referring to Grantland Rice, the famous sports writer. He is some sort of relative on my mother's side, but I don't really know anything much about him.

Thanks for the full-size link to the letter. Do you happen to know the date of the letter?
I didn't notice this before, but right after "Mont" is Sep 15 -30. I assume the date
is Sept 15, 1930 ?

It must be sometime before Oct 28, 1930, because I have a letter from McGivern to
Doug Wesson on Oct 28th, in which he tells him to forget about the 44-40; the test
is not worth the trouble of making it.
