Picked up a 2" 15-4 a couple weeks ago; almost as new except for a ding on the trigger guard.

SCS&W 4th page 212 has a note that 2 and 4 inch guns came with smooth triggers. Then states; "(at least one 2" reported w/ serrated trigger, but not verified)"

My gun is not lettered; but,my late (1981) 2" 15-4 has a serrated trigger, no trigger stop and a .375 semi-target hammer...96k42xx

Doubt it affects the gun's value but an interesting footnote for real collectors... not us accumulators!

Snap a pic and post it in the SCSW IV sub-forum here, and ask for clarification.

Adios,

This subject has come up before. AFAIK, the SCSW is simply wrong. AFAIK, the serrated trigger was most common, maybe even only. Both of my 2" 15s have serrated triggers, and all of my 4".

The error was in earlier editions, and I guess the subject was forgotten when we all had a chance to make corrections.

I spoke with Rick Nahas at the 50th in Tulsa. He pointed out a few errors that have been found in the book. Some came from S&W. I still believe Rick Nahas and Jim Supica did a fantastic job with the SCSW. We don't live in a perfect world, but if they are notified of possible errors maybe the next edition will be closer to perfection.
