Hey there. I purchased my first pistol about 6 months ago, after submitting to the full authority of the NYC licensing process. It was not easy, although not as awful as I had heard it might be. I own a business in which I deal with cash, so I was able to get a carry permit.
Here's my baby, and here's where it lives (on the days on the week where I'm allowed to exercise my rights).
I'm looking to get into IDPA or some other dynamic range experience, as well as to expand the collection (ruger mini-14, 1911 of some kind, and many others are on the list).
I've put about 500 rounds through it with no issues at all. Which is nice. I'd also like to modify it (APex trigger etc.), but I'm concerned about the legal implications of modifying a carry weapon. Will ask those questions elsewhere.
I've asked my first of hopefully not too many dumb questions, regarding in-holster mag drops, but I'm generally a quick learner. Look forward to contributing.
Anyway, I appreciate the existence of the forum. It's nice to see that there is a world beyond the craziness of NYC and a community to match.
