I came to the USA in '92. Joined the USMC and bought this gun around '94. It didn't have a hammer? Don't ask, I don't know. A friend put it into a local gunsmith, while I was on a deployment. Turns out the 'smith didn't want to give it back, pressing my buddy to sell it.

I've put perhaps a box of .45's through it and she performs, exactly how she should. I wanted to "give her a makeover", she hasn't deteriorated any since I stumbled upon her. But definitely needs some TLC.

However, I don't want to attempt anything until I get some direction....I am not a smith, I'm an EOD Tech. I do know my limits. I would like to submit some photo's for your kind consideration. Any and all insight, direction would be greatly received and appreciated.

I believe (from reading here), it's a Target Model 1955, that's been chopped to 4". It's a 25-2. I was told when I bought it, it shot .45 ACP or .45 Long Colt. I thought the info suspect, so stuck with the moon clips to be safe.

Again thanks for reading and your time.

Irish Out.

I love Ireland. Went there in 2006... Dublin, Avoca, Brittas Bay, Wexford, Rosslare... just awesome :D

Irish, a Marine, and an EOD tech. In other words, full goose bug**** crazy. :D

My mother's mother's people came from Waterford and Commodore John Barry is an ancestor. Up the Irish.

Your Model 25 was designed to chamber the .45 Colt, often misnamed "Long Colt". I've wanted one of those for a long while now. Keep me in mind if you decide to sell yours.

THANKS for your Service to our Country !!

Gentlemen,

I do believe that's the first time, I've read those words on "paper".... Not that I ever needed to, but I'm here to tell you...It sure was nice to. Especially at "zero dark thirty", this morning. Thank you much and believe me it was a pleasure, and I'll do it again in a New York minute if need be.

At "zero dark forty five", I went and had breakfast with the rest of the team. I just happen to be the Team Lead. I have on my team, an "old guy" (don't beat me up just yet), by the name of Flinn.

Flinn, reckons when the Confederate Soldiers turned in their "bullet launchers", at Appomattox. They told the Union Soldiers, the only reason the North won.....was because they had more Irish than the South. I do so like Flinn, he has a way with words. He has the ability to tell someone to "go to hell", and at the same time make them look forward to the trip? Or was that what they said about me being "diplomatic"?

I like him for the humor he still has and the fact he allows me to lead, even though I'm half his age..... but most of all, I love him because he fought at the Battle of the Chosin Resevoir, in Korea (Chosin Few) and I know full well; If I begged and pleaded with him to follow me to Afghanistan, he would.......smiling and telling me stories every chance he could.

Thank you for the warm welcome, it's much appreciated this end. Stay low and I would like to send a belated Happy Birthday to my fellow Marines.

One of the finest fighting forces on this planet... Semper Fi
