Is CC allowed at Cabelas?

There's no sign at the door that says you can't.

There ya' go.

Victim Zone signs must be "conspicuously displayed", whatever that means. I mean, if I'm opening the door for a pretty girl, I sure ain't scanning the doors, windows or walls for signs. Some are easy to spot and there's no ignoring them. Others? Well, they may have been prominent at one time but now they're behind the newspaper stand or the sidewalk display, etc.

In short, it is not our job to research this, but if we observe it we are to comply. If I am carrying and I see THE SIGN, I go back to my vehicle and either (1) lock my gun away or (2) go elsewhere.

And to the OP, while you're there tell Cabela's to build in central Ohio. W.Va, Indiana and Michigan but not Ohio???

I always carry while at the Arizona Cabela's. There is a sign at the door that says if you are bringing in a weapon to sell or for service that it must be checked in at the Service desk. I have never seen anyone with an Open Carry gun. I also carry at Bass Pro in Mesa....as well as everywhere else I shop.

the one here has a carefully worded sign to have weapons checked in for business (trade ins and the like) yet all but encourages CC

The ones in Lacey, WA and Post Falls, ID have signs that say legal carry is allowed. Guns for repair or sale must be checked.

Going to Cabelas in Mich. Do they allow concealed carry?

I used to frequent that exact store, I don't recall if there is a sign or not. I do know that if you buy a gun, they walk you right out the front door before handing it to you. To me that was in indication of what they thought of it, but since I did not have a permit then I didn't pay more attention than that.

I believe that is their company policy...they do the same thing here in Arizona. Last gun I bought there was an LC-9...did the paperwork, paid at the gun counter and they handed me the gun at the door. Took it out to the car, loaded the mag, put it in my pocket and went back to finish my shopping. Silly policy, but just a minor inconvenience.

My local gander Mountain has a sign that states "All weapons must be checked in and cased. This excludes legal concealed carry."

In a word YES, there are signs at the front door stating that all actions must be opened prior to entering, with a disclaimer stating that this does not apply to concealed carry permit holders.

Well answered that one. Maybe. I was there for 6 hours yesterday with my family. My son-in-law and I both cc all day. Didnt ask just did it. There were no signs of any kind on doors.I was wearing just a tshirt so gun printed. Talked to 2 associates and they had to see it and said nothing. So At Dudee Mich. No problem

Always interesting when people want to be law abidding citizens, yet they seem to pick and choose what laws they want to abide (because they can get away with it).

Have to think that if your gun printed, you weren't very successful at carrying concealed. Usually the intent is to have no one notice.

Yes sir and I get that,I should have kept my sweatshirt on but got to warm so I removed it.So yes it wasnt as concealed as I would have liked.I shall do better next time.

Sounds like it varies from store to store. The PA Cabelas in Hamburg orriginally said all firearms must be unloaded and checked. They replace that sign with the clarification that the rule did not apply to valid CCW caries.
