I was wondering if anyone thinks I can break-even on (2) new in the box Taurus 9mm's? I bought a G2C for like ..$240.00 ..then 2 weeks later the G3C came out & I paid like..$260.

The G2C has (2) 12 rd mags. (3) dot white factory sights.
The G3C has (3) 12 rd. mags & tenifer coating and glock steel rear sight & white front dot factory sight.

**I just want to break-even**
I also have a custom made "Alabama" kydex Pocket holster
& a new "Sticky" Pocket holster also.

I am thinking $500. for it all...that sound reasonable?

Both new in box & with warranty papers.

I got my eye on a nice S&W revolver, I much prefer over a semi at my age. Thoughts appreciated.

There is an online sales site advertising the G3 for $350, so I suspect you could easily sell each for $300 or so, and keep the holsters for when you change your mind about carrying a 9 mm subcompact. :)

Well ..thanks for your input. I think "once I figure out how to post photos" unless you can tell me easiest way??.. I hope I can give this deal and maybe some ammo too to a Forum member. I am older now and Id rather someone here get them.I just want a nice model 60 or 642. I recently got my (nib) model 60 back from a Forum member who had it for 2 yrs..still new in box un-fired. But I do not want to shoot that one.

Need to factor in tax and ffl, etc fees. Not sure if your 240/260 included that.

With the shortage of guns and ammo in most places, you shouldn't have any problem selling. Good luck finding what you want, though.... I stopped in my favorite LGS the other day - empty shelf after empty shelf, both guns and ammo were sold out! It looked to me like 90% of their shelves were bare. I'd heard it was bad out there, but I was shocked at how bad it really was.
Like I said: Good Luck!

BEWARE of SHIPPING COST.

I have read that UPS charges as much as $80.00. The least expensive way is through a FFL dealer using USPS (snail mail).

Fortunately for the OP, that is the buyer's responsibility. :)

But do research and inform about the cost in the sales ad. The FFL's fee needs to factor in unless you do a legal face to face transaction.

private sales in Virginia???

All I can say for the OP is that since Ralph Northam has been Gov and the latest ALL firearms sales must go through FFL, private sales here in Virginia have become a great big hassle. Add to that the fact that Armslist has changed their business model to paid membership before you can list or even contact sellers and the local deals are pretty much dead in the water.

I recently thought I could list some C&R guns and didn't mind "up grading" my account to the monthly $3.99 charged automatically to your ACH (bank). However when clicking the "Upgrade" button, the "3.99" is no longer a choice...it is now $6.99 for credit cards as only choice, and this is auto-billed every month.

Add those charges to the costs of finding a 01 FFL willing to transfer for less than $75 is also a major chore.

Are there still "parking lot" deals going down? I don't know, I've usually done local police station lots, daytime, deals before but that day is gone, and probably too dangerous these days anyway.

So....the OP's for sure got a very decent price in mind, and a good "offer" but how to get the word out, and then how to execute the deal if in Virginia is another (costly) matter.

What Greyfox said^^^

If there was ever a time to break even on a gun purchase, now would be it. I would try a local sale through Armslist.com first, and maybe throw in some ammo if you have it to spare. Armslist is a good indicator of current local values for common guns (not so much for older or collectibles).

I have been using postimg.cc to post pics that do not require any special editing, hi-rez, or photoshop treatment. Take a pic using a cell phone camera in decent daylight, crop on the camera, open a folder on postimg, upload from cell phone. Click on the pic to get a shareable link, and use that link to add a pic to a post in any forum. 10~15 minutes.

The current trick for Armslist is to just put a phone number in the ad. Anybody can view Armslist, but they don't have to be a member to call or text. ;)

I got to think that in today's market you could walk into just about any gunshop and swap even up those two pistols for a 642 in a heartbeat. Might even get them to throw in a box of .38spl. Hell, I have a 638 that I'd swap even up for those two right now if it weren't for the almost $100 vig I'd have to pay with shipping and FFL fees. From what I just read on your two pistols they seem to be pretty good guns especially at that price point. If I hadn't just recently bought a p365, I'd swap the 638 even with the vig.
Good luck.

I don't do stuff like Taurus and plastics. Not interested. I took 3 plastic pistols on trade against a NIB m27-2. I allowed $600. After guy left I thought I screwed up. Word got out I had them and I got Retail out of them in less than 24hours. My FFLs bread and butter is 9mm and ARs. He has a couple AR type rifles but not one new 9mm or 380; 40 ect in modern type pistols. I keep him in groceries with S&W transfers.

Fixed for you.:) The same is supposed to be true here, but every sheriff in the state (even Clark County !!!) said "Um, yeah, just don't expect it to be top of our to do list". Y'all know what that code means.

Lol! Amen for this forum. I quickly sold the entire package to..Forum Member in S.C. And yup. I went my FFL here in Va. to his in S.C.
A quick easy sale. Some wanted me to separate.I held "firm" and got my full asking price. Where do you get 2 nib pistols, 2 new holsters & 2 boxes of ammo for..$550? You dont usually. I lost about _$125.. But now I can go get a S&W.

One more thing...my local FFl gun shop..sent (2) boxes by ups..the Pistols & the ammo separate. I am still "in shock" how cheap it was, even with $600.in insurance. You ready..it cost me..a whopping $32.16 I use Middletown Firearms here in Va. I even re-bated the Member back..$18.00 cause I thought it would cost. $50.00 Can't say enough about the good people I have met on here!
