Came across a Navy marked Victory M&P (Ser. # 200,000 range) this weekend in a pawn shop. With the exception of the grips, all serial numbers match. The grips are checkered with large medallion and bear a non-matching serial number. The finish is probably 30%. They're asking $425. Even w/o pictures, what do you think?

I'd say that a 30% Victory with the wrong grips, even if it is NAVY marked is a bit over priced

As a buyer of one of these when I find a good deal, that isn't.

I see very nice ones with correct grips and decent finish frequently for $450 - lots of them advertised on line in excellent shape at $500 with no buyers.

So I'd price that one like this - if there is no metal damage - no pitting or freckling, then a park job and grips will set you back $200 easy. $450 - $200 = $250. That would be the max I'd say it's worth, and I'd probably pass on that, too.

Pass on it, and mentally note the pricing policy there - rotate it lower down the list of places you hit frequently and try some others.

Better go check those grips. If they are K frame diamond checkered, with large medallions and are numbered to a Pre-war K frame, and in good condition, they may be worth more than the asking price of the gun, by themselves.
