"A man was robbed of his beer on Canal Street early Wednesday morning, New Orleans police said.

Shortly before 6 a.m., a 55-year-old man holding a beer was approached by a man on a dark-colored bicycle in the 2200 block of Canal Street. The man on the bike demanded the victim’s beer and pushed him in the chest, the New Orleans Police Department said in a preliminary offense log.

As the victim attempted to retrieve his beer, the man pushed him to the ground and took his beer, police said. The suspect then fled on his bicycle."

What is this world coming to when a man can't enjoy his wake up beer :(

if this was me and my Guinness......the miscreant would have received a valuable life lesson.....

The Big Easy is a dangerous place. On Bourbon St. during our last Mardi Gras, my husband got hit in the chest with someone's flying GoPro camera.

But we are willing to brave the dangers, for the riches of BACCHUS, ORPHEUS, ZULU, and REX. :D

A Marine Lieutenant buddy of mine (unfortunately now deceased) fresh from boot camp was walking through the French Quarter with his wife and several of his graduating class mates when his wife's purse was snatched. The miscreant made a solid 10 steps before he was raised in the air by his shirt and relieved of the purse. It was not reported to the police, the seven Marines took him to a side street and with very few words explained in detail why he should never do that again. This was back in the early 1980's.

Why not stand on the street with a can of beer and a can of pee and surrender the can of pee when robbed? The can of pee should be refrigerated over night so as not to warn the robber.

You forgot the best parade out there. Friday night with Krewe D'Etat. The rest of those are Posseurs.
Full disclosure: My Brother in Law rides Rex-I ride in Krewe D'Etat :D
Our entire float got fined a couple of years ago when we turned our backs on Gallier Hall where the Mayor reviews the parade. DIdn't help when they caught us throwing verboten confederate flag beads either. Screw 'em if they can't take a joke :D

Good in theory but takes wayyyyyyyyyyy too much advance planning.
Plus...you ever tried peeing into a beer can-it ain't as easy as it looks. Or so I've been told.

"Best thing to do is pee in your beer and say here ya go."

Fraternity party circa 1978. Jerk (he would not take hints to leave and those in charge wanted to avoid bouncing him for forgotten reasons) comes in starts aggravating women, putting cigarettes out in girl's drinks, insulting them , etc. A fraternity brother who is now fond of Smith & Wessons goes in bathroom and fills red solo cup with knowledge of offended females. Jerk is poring beer on people and claims thirst and asks for another beer. Fraternity brother hands warm red solo cup to a comely offended blonde who obliges and gives jerk cup. Jerk chugs, coughs and says this tastes like pee. Offended females and others in the know laugh uncontrollably. Fraternity brother asks jerk how he knows the flavor and jerk leaves and party was saved. Jerk is later arrested around 4 am walking down middle of interstate hitchhiking. Nice fraternity brother put up bail and let jerk sleep it off in same bathroom floor. Jerk left forever about 2pm the next day.

You also have to pay attention. Had a co-worker who always showed up to the pre-work meeting with two styrofoam cups. One held coffee, the other tobacco spit. One day he mixed them up in rapid succession, spitting in his coffee and taking a sip of spit . . .

'The suspect then fled on his bicycle'

Fled? Or just rode away?
