The reason there is so little ammo available is that there are many folks out there who are like you. Buying up everything they can get their hands on. They are sitting on a basement full of ammo they don't really need while the rest of us can't shoot our .22s.

I just don't see why in the hell everyone needs so much 22 ammo. Yeah, I like to shoot it too, but other than a major revolt from squirrels and rabbits what's the deal? I can kind of see people buying up 5.56/223 and 7.62x39 for some revolutionary theory or the S&W forum militia...but 22lr? If someone didn't have a couple thousand 22lr rounds before the hysteria, I don't feel sorry for them. If you think you need some sort of a hoard of 50,000 + rounds of 22lr ammo, you should have had it prior to December 2012.

i myself don't shoot .22s im looking for the 40 or 45 thats it and i dont have a bundle of it just enough to go to the range and have a good time

HEY GUYS I HAVE BEEN IN THE AMMO MODE ITS LIKE AN EVERYDAY THING FOR ME NOW IM CALLING UP ALL THE WALMARTS, ACADEMY AND BASS PRO SHOPS 24/7 SEEING IF THEY HAVE ANY AMMO AND IF THEY DO THERE I GO BUT IM NOT THE ONES THAT RE-SELL IT TO MAKE MORE MONEY ITS FOR ME. Get out there and live life. Calling up all those stores is time consuming and then driving out there is probably taking you away from much more important things. The ammo craze is already beginning to wear out. I live in Charlotte and believe me it was almost impossible to find anything since last week of December. The past few weeks I now walk into places and have not had a problem getting what I need. I just bought 2 boxes of 555 Winchester at a very busy Walmart here a few days ago. They had 2 shelves full. Went back this afternoon and 4 boxes left. People are beginning to get back to normal.

I might have to take a daytrip Charlotte because 22lr is nowhere to be found in SC.

first of all as i stated in my post above yours, i do not buy 22lr ammo and second no im not going 6 or 7 times a day that would just be plain stupid i would if i had rich parents or rich family to pay for my gas but i cant, i buy what i can and when i can if its available ill buy it.
