This is by far my favorite rifle. Accurate, reliable, and functionally very close to a real AR. Far more economical to shoot than its big brother M&P 15. The person at S&W that came up with this idea deserves an award.

Yea it pretty much beats out my AR cause of ammo cost... but yea it sure is a fun little rifle to shoot and gets alot of attention at the range or around friends...:D

Favorite, close.....

Most used during these past 6 months, absolutely. Because of all the reasons you mentioned. It has been a real performer for what it is. (and it's fun without killing the bank account!!! :D )

No. I like my Ruger 10/22 with Volquartzen barrel better overall. It may be older style but there is no end to accessories.

I don't know about favorite, but it's the one I shoot the most. :)

I'm really partial to my match-accurized Ruger 77/22 with a 6-24x40 AO scope; sub-MOA with Eley or Lapua match ammo.

NO! My favorite is my Remington 40-X, in 22LR. Then my CZ American Tribal, then my 15-22 MOE. I have some others, but these 3 are it. each has job that the others just can not keep up with.
40-X is target/bench
tribal is field/hunting
15-22 is a fun gun.

My favorite rifle is my beloved Remington 03-A3 that I bought from my identical-twin brother. It is breathtakingly accurate beyond all belief.

My next most favorite rifle is a Remington 03-A4 replica that my wife gave me this past Christmas. I fully expect that as my vision changes, I will be shooting this particular rifle much more... and sadly shooting my other iron sighted military rifle much less.

But, when it comes to .22 LR rifles... I must say that I really am thrilled with the 15-22! I haven't fired mine very much... only 500 rounds. But, I converted five Pro-Mag 10rd. magazines to hold 32 rounds. And, given my love of simply walking in the woods and shooting at targets of opportunity, I think the 15-22 is going to be my close companion both in the hot summer and the more pleasant fall and winter months.

Not sure. I don't really do much but mag dumps with mine and I'm currently in a long range kind of mood so for now. No. My remmy 700 is

Right now, yep, it's my favorite. I was at the range this evening, and did rapid fire and double taps at 50 yards. I'm just amazed at seeing the center 3" of the target almost obliterated after three magazine dumps.

However, if I want to shoot dime size groups, I have to turn to my Marlin 783. My pride and joy is my Winchester 9422M, but it is, and will remain, an open sight rifle, and my old eyes can't shoot it like I used to. So, for now, it's the 15-22!

It's my favorite in the AR platform as far as cheap and fun plinking around. However, accuracy goes to my old Winchester model 190. My 15-22 couldnt hold a flame to my model 190 when it comes to key holes with a .22LR.

I have three .22 rifles and each is my Favorite for different reasons. The 15-22 is bags of fun to shoot and holding it reminds me of the M16A1 that I carried in Vietnam. I didn't get a "full-caliber" AR because I'm not planning on going to war again and I don't hunt anymore either. The cost of feeding a 5.56 is usually considerable also. But the 15-22 is a hoot and when I'm holding it it sure is my Favorite Rifle.
But I also have a Henry Golden Boy and that butter-smooth lever action is a joy to work! My creaky eyes still appreciate the vision of a polished brass bead between the ears of the buckhorn sight and the gleam of all that shiny metalwork and walnut is always a wonderful thing. That it shoots so well through that heavy, octagonal barrel also brings a smile to my face. The Henry is a beautiful thing to see and shoot and when I'm holding it it certainly is my Favorite Rifle!
Then there is this old, beat-up Springfield 87-A semi-auto there in the safe. It's stock is worn and scratched and needs a lot of attention and someone (my Sister!) took 400-grade steel wool to the metalwork years ago "to make it shiny" and removed what blue was left on it. The butt-plate and trigger guard broke a while back in a closet (stuff falls over) but Numrich made sure I have the parts to fix that after the stock gets done. It really doesn't sound like much but it was with this old Springfield back in 1952 that my Grandfather began to teach me about shooting and marksmanship. It was his farm-gun, saved for foxes and coyotes and the occasional snake. He showed me how to stalk a rabbit and where to put the sight on a groundhog for a quick kill. He let me use it to become a sniper of varmints on our little patch of Missouri and now I need to get it fixed up so my grandkids can also shoot and learn from it. When I look at that old rifle and remember the man who owned it and taught me with it, it certainly is my Favorite Rifle!
I guess I just can't answer the question...

When it comes to popping aspirin on a string at 50yds, I chose the Volquartsen Custom.

When it comes to ****s and giggles with anything from 25 to 50 yrd, I choose my 15-22.

My Saiga in 7.62x39mm is my favorite rifle. The 15-22 is the one I shoot because of monetary constraints.

Nope but I still like it a lot. For any serious shooting I prefer one of my two 10-22's.

My grand daughter's Pink 15-22 is my favorite. She finally wanted to go shoot it last Sunday.

It was a proud grandpa moment to place the pink rifle on the bench and help her fire it for the first time.

Thanks Smith & Wesson.

Kinda like saying which kid is your favorite... depends on the day. :)

The 15-22 is a fun gun but in reality is just a plinker. It is very easy to shoot, does not kick, is not loud & is economical... both in the purchase price and with ammo. It is a great trainer for the AR, which is why I bought it, plus it is a great trainer for new shooters. However, it just seems like a toy sometimes. The 22lr is just limited when it comes to ballistics, range & knockdown power. My AR just feels more like a "real" gun. It is heavier, louder and has a little kick. It is exceedingly accurate, out to hundreds of yards. With the modern bullets, it can be rather lethal also.

So my AR would have to be my favorite, but just like my kids... I love all my guns.

I'd have to agree with RJ in this one. I like the 15-22 but I love my AR for some of the reasons listed above. I don't love the cost to shoot it though :P

Not my favorite, but I do shoot it a lot. It's as easy to clean as a Glock, which means I shoot it more often.

I can't say I have an afinity for any one firearm. Some days I only want to shoot pistols. Some days I want to shoot rifles. Some days I want to shoot shotguns. On the really expensive days, I shoot all three. Those are really long days.

The 15-22 must be my favorite fun gun ever causing me to shoot it more than any other of my "collection". I just visited in Texas and shot a bunch of raccoons with the 15-22 and one Boar with an AR. "Favorites" seem to pop up everywhere at my house but my all time favorites are:
M1A1 Carbine (gave it to my buddies daughter for BD #16)
Star DK (the inspiration for Colt's Mustang)
Winchester 92 in 44-40
M&P 15-22
AR 15
In no particular order, but then I remembered Colt SAA, 1911-a1, 1890 Win...etc, etc, !

No, but it is good. I'd shoot my Rock River M4 all day, every day, everywhere I went if I could. Honestly, I think my favorite rifle to shoot, that I own, is my Enfield.

Favorite that I've ever shot? M1 Garand.

Now if we talk about Machine Guns...

LOL

I love the M249, but the pig, the M60, good lord was that thing fun. Could single shot a hair off a gnats *** at 100 meters with that thing. L O V E I T.

My 15-22 is one of my favorites, but I love my .303 Enfield and other ARs for the roles they have in satisfying my shooting wants and needs.

OldEagleEars- You have a gift at telling stories. Your reply (below) was a pleasure to read.

I'm pretty normal and my favorite is usually my most recent purchase until the new wears off in terms of it being the latest and best. I have way to many guns for the S&W 15-22 to be my current favorite but it is a blast to shoot. I also have a Ruger 10/22 that I had many improvements made with Valquartsen parts and it's also a blast to shoot. My current favorite and most recent is a DPMS Sportical AR 15 and because I have ammo and reloading supplies it's me current favorite.
