Is there hope for the M&P Compact mags?

There is, Taylor Freelance makes various baseplates that increase the capacity. Originally they were made for competition on full size pistols but since they only replace the baseplates, and full size and compact mags have the same configuration, there's no reason that they can't be used on compacts (except it makes them harder to conceal). Sorry, I was trying to be speific but didn't make my point well enough. Yes, there are a few different mag extendors available like the one you posted as well as this one: Smith & Wesson M&P Base Pad and Insert from Arredondo Accessories

And there are a few more still but I forget the name brands.

My point was why I mentioned Pearce was that they as a company usually have a plus one or two extension that does little to add any real bulk to the gun. Usually it swaps out a pinky extension and gives the spring more room for that extra shot. I would think someone would swap out the pinky extension base for one that could hold that one extra shot or two without getting too much bigger.

Has anybody been able to get the 12th rd in the 12 rd mag
I have had mine for over a month and even with the loader the 12th won't go

The 17 round mag and the 12 round mag use the identical spring. I cut a turn off my 12 round mag to load the 12th round. (this was after trimming the follower a number of times with no improvement). But just wait, now you'll see a number of posts about "Noooo, don't cut the spring, it will not function correctly!! , I cut mine about a year ago and have not had a malfunction.)

I just got used to loading one less round at the range for a while and before too long (well maybe about 20-25 times loading them up) the last round would go in (by hand, not with the Uplula). About 10 more times and I could even get the last round in with the loader.
