I have a Model 625-3 Model of 1989 with a 6 inch barrel. Shot it last Friday and enjoy it very much
I don't think I've ever seen a 6".
I don't think they made a 6".
My mistake it is a 5 inch. Will have to use a tape measure from now on instead of my Mark 1 eyeballs............
…Back in the day when we could only carry revolvers in uniform, I would have killed for a 4" 625 as a duty gun...
I bought both my 625's used but this one is particularly smooth and stages perfectly. I don't know if there's been any work on it but wouldn't be surprised.
I've been curious about the JM version but never shot one.
The 25 series has always occupied a strange niche in the Smith pantheon. It's not really a hunting gun, it's too bulky for concealed carry, it never had much of a following in law enforcement and even in the target game if someone was going to shoot 45 acp they almost always choose a 1911. The one area it seems to thrive, at least around here, is the revolver crowd in IDPA and IPSC. There's one 625 that has been owned by at least four people in my IDPA crew.
It has a loyal following. But its small, somewhat like the 10mm crowd. I'm not opposed to 45 acp revolvers, I have two 1917s, a Smith and a Colt. But when I'm revolver shopping a 625 isn't on my list.
Do you love your 625 in 45 acp?

… I love the 2.5"-4" guns especially silly RB with gold bead front interchange sights…
