I recently acquired a set of crimson trace grips for my 686 which i like quite a bit with one problem, they are camo colored. they look fine and for someone who likes camo, they would be great. so what im wondering is... would it be stupid of me to paint them? obviously, i would make sure all appropriate holes and pieces are taped or covered. i would also use a krylon or similar paint that is made for plastic so it would stick well. anyway, wondering what your thoughts are. thanks

I don't care what you paint them with, it's going to rub off on your hands.

I'd ebay them, and put the proceeds towards a black set of CT grips.

Don't paint them, as poster above said, it'll rub off. In theory, you could dye them, but I'm not sure how you would do that given that optics/electronics are integrated into the grip. Post them in the accessories/parts forum and see if someone wants to buy them or trade them for a black set.

I would try posting an add in the marketplace section and see if you can trade your camo grips to someone for their black grips.

:) Let me first say that I am not a fan of any type lazer
sight. So I would sell them and buy some pretty wood
grips and save the extra money for another gun. Don

Sell them and get some already black. You'll wind up with a crappy set that no one will want. Even you, worse than you already don't want them as they are.

paint no!

i am a car painter of many years and have tried many things with paint both for myself and customers and one of the hardest things to paint is plastic. trust me when i say with 30 years of trying i would sell them and buy the black.good luck

While some of the new spray paints for plastic are better; given the amount of wear/handling grips see, I think would put black electrical tape on them before painting them. (I'm not serious)
