I was having some sort of a weird issue with the 645 while dry firing.
for a little bit there when I cocked the hammer and fired it it would catch in half cock mode and it seemed to only happen about 6 or 7 times. Then after oiling it and fiddling with the decocker it never seemed to happen again.
yet inbetween all of that in DA mode it would never catch like that and it properly lay flat after hitting the firing pin. now since I got the thing I've put about 400 rounds in it in the past two months I've had it and never had that happen during live firing.
so it is this some sort of weird break in deal where the hammer finish is a little rough and just needs to get smoothed in?
I mean it was a new in box 30 year old pistol and an early 645 with the square bushings for the grips.
was it just from lack of lubrication and maybe I didnt notice the safety was blocking the hammer from hitting and the oil did the trick to ease the safety back into its proper position so SA would lay flat once the trigger was pulled?
or was this that trigger hitch people have told me about and a trip to the gunsmith to ease out some slightly rough early 1980's stainless steel is order for it?
or is this something else entirely?
