Is this the time to sell???

I am going to get rid of a few guns soon. One going next week. I would get rid of long guns in a minute. Keep M97 riot gun, 1917 Enfield and a couple 22's.

I would have a real problem parting with my Ljutic LTX, and Perazzi Grand America custom stocked by Paul Hilmer. I have spare triggers worth a nice 5" M27 each. They are prized possessions

I have also

In the past year or so, sold several run of the mill and easily replaceable guns and used the funds to purchase a couple collectible guns ive long desired.

That was fun.

It almost seems to me that you are looking for approval from others about selling.

That’s too funny. Me Look HERE for approval to sell firearms. This Forum is a big reason I have bought so many in the most recent years. I didn’t expect very many sell responses. :D

No, I’m not seeking “approval” to sell. I was just thinking it might be a good time to sell some firearms and was wondering what others thought. Prices are nutso high now and this might be the time to take advantage.

I do appreciate all of the responses so thanks.

I sold some Mosin Nagants and a CZ52 last year, along with way more ammo for them than I could carry. Made for some happy customers, as well as more room and money for stuff I’ll actually enjoy. I put that money in a couple of single action army revolvers and a Remington Rand 1911a1.

The time to sell is when you lose interest. But you better make sure you don't think your interest will come back! I've had that happen, and the re-buying is usually about 2x the sales price.

Go figure.

A timely discussion, been thinking the same thing. I actually only shoot a few of mine too, and Im really wanting the '22 Harley Davidson Pan America, I mean like I want a other 3.5" M27. And brothers that wanting bad.

I watched a lot of Internet auctions for interesting guns through to the New Year and it was pretty clear that selling was going on apace with good prices (for the seller!) being realized. I expected this activity to drop right off after Xmas which is the usual pattern. Oh no, there are a whole stack of auctions about to happen or scheduled for the next few weeks.

All that said I saw a bunch of stuff go at low to "please, take it" prices just yesterday. I'm not sure if the auction appeared at short notice, or everyone is broke after the holidays. The proper collector stuff still fetched money, but a lot of common guns and rifles went really cheap. I put a totally BS bid in on a brand new polymer gun from an odd country just for grins and won it at about 65% of current retail. Color me surprised. I just hope I can repeat the gag on the milsurps I'm eyeing right now.

I too enjoy paying attention to sold prices which prompted my original question.

There are very few firearms that I have any real attachment to. My thinking is I should turn some and maybe soon?

If I could get even close to the “T” Series price sold I’d be very happy. That was an unusually high price sold but most recents are not that far below. My, (1969 “T”Series,) $650.00 investment not that long ago could be multiplied a bit. Of course the $99.99 the original buyer paid would be much more now. :D
