I am anxiously waiting for a new-to-me S&W 3953 to arrive. I learned that my recently acquired 3913 and 908 were just not good for me from a shooting accuracy perspective.

Great pistols, no issues with regard to quality of fit or finish, function, etc. but I have been shooting revolvers and Glocks so much for the past 20 years, I just could not get used to the trigger pull. First shot was usually dead-nuts on target...but the single action second shots gave me fits.

I am definitely a "revolver" guy, and am hoping that the 3953 will meet my expectations for having a consistent trigger, more like my revolvers and Glock.

My question is about the CS9: is it truly a DA/SA like the
3913, or DAO? I have wanted one for a long time, but having reached the conclusion that I just shoot DAO/revolvers better than DA/SA, I'd like to know if I should abandon the search for a CS9.

Like the Great Eastwood once said: A man has to know his limitations.

I know that DA/SA is not for me! And I'm ok with that!

The CS9 is DA/SA. I have never seen a DAO version, but there is one member on here (CruiserRN) who had his converted to DAO. I'm sure it's not that hard.

The CS9 was offered in the DAO version. It was called the CS9D. I have seen them come up on gunbroker. They are easy to spot because they do not have a decocking lever on the slide.

I have a stainless dao cs9 I bought used a year ago. Trigger pull is about 10 lbs every time. S&W made dao cs9's in .40 & .45 as well.

Listings on auction sites......

ummmm.....someone please tell me that the internals of the CS9D are made of solid Gold and the springs are made of pure silver....

$700??

HOLY HOLE-SHOOTER, BATMAN! The seller must be off his Bat-Rocker!

Hi guys I have the same affinity to the long trigger pull of my revolvers so I had S+W convert my CS9 to DAO and smooth out the trigger.I think it cost me 175 to have done and they send all the parts back in case you ever want to convert it back.BTW Big Dog's CS9 Grips will run you around 100 dollars and the Trijicon Night Sights around 150 dollars and there is a extra mag.The trijicon night sights are the cure for it hitting low to point of aim with the Novaks and the Big Dog grips are the cure for it printing. For 700 you are getting a CS9 with all the work done to it so 700 is a bit high but not unreasonable.....Mike

if you decide to sell your 39139 or 908 let me know, I'm interested!! also, you can have any DA/SA pistol converted to DAO at the factory.

I have the CS-9, and I am a dedicated DA revolver fan, the trigger pull on my gun is excellent, I am considering converting to DA only, its that good.

The conversion is an easy fix. Have you thought about having your current guns converted to DA only?

BTW if its fits your hand, the CS-9 is an excellent gun, mine is amazingly accurate, very natural pointer.
