I spotted this old Ford F-1 truck the other day and I couldn't resist getting its picture. From a distance and the road it looked pretty good, then when I got up close I noticed that it might be a little too far gone to do anything with, at least not without a boat load of cash.

That's the kinda thing I like to photo, but not with houses and cars around. It needs to be by itself with a foot of grass around it.

I remember driving a couple of those old Fords as a kid on the ranch.
Longy time ago..

Beautiful. I think there is still places to get those flat head parts. I drove a couple when I was a kid and they run pretty good.
peace,

Flathead parts are easy to get. A lot of them are still being made for the hot rod industry. But back to the truck, with a little bondo, duct tape and maybe a little baling wire you could get her back on the road. Of course it will help if you have a wheelbarrow full of money to throw into it as well.

47', 48', or 49', I can't tell ? If that is a young oak tree pushing that hood up, it may take awhile to get-er going again.

The metal on those fenders is close to 1/4" thick, I have never seen one rusted through so bad before.

I am curious about the location. I notice no gutters on the buildings so,...far northeast where snow would knock them off, or down south, where no basements are dug, and water run-off is no problem ?

First On Race Day. Larry

That's OK, had nothing but good luck with an '84 pick'em up even with that junky hybrid ignition.

Grew up with mopar, first car was a Dart Swinger even though it did not Drip Oil Drip Gas Everywhere.

Never owned a Cracked Head Every Valve Rattles Oil Leaks Every Time.

My favorite years for Ford trucks. A 1948-50 Ford. '48 I think. I believe the '49-50s had small lights on the ends of the top grill bar.

The 1947s still had the old style vertical bars left over from the '30s, and in '51, they went to the single, wide, horizontal bar.

BTW, with some minor modifications, that whole front - hood, fenders, grill, etc., will mount on my '97 F-150. ;)
