It is official. I am a Curmudgeon.

This is why REAL men don't read instructions...

If you're afraid that visitors to your home will notice that the brackets for your blinds are not aligned properly then have them installed by a professional.

Amen! We recently had our patio enclosed. The kitchen window counter on the patio side was water damaged back in 2004 hurricanes. The construction guy agreed to try to repair it and eventually decided to re-laminate it. He did a good job, both of us realizing it would not look "new." My wife finds one spot on the bottom side that she had to lie on the floor and look directly up from underneath. She was really concerned about it. I told her anyone who crawls on my floor to look up at the underside of the counter to point that one spot out will be shown the exit post haste.

Alignment was not the issue, structural integrity was! :)

It's still capable of being done without a slide rule or M.I.T. graduate.

Look at the picture. Pretend it's your blind and the black marks are the brackets. Install brackets 1 and 2. Install bracket 3 in the middle. This can be done visually unless you've been drinking for a while. To increase "structural integrity" add brackets 4 and 5. This can also be done visually because you agree that alignment isn't the issue.

I'm a firm believer in the saying "K.I.S.S."
