it sucks so much when you plan on going to the range...and it rains

Rain does put a damper on things.

In that case, I just spend a little time here at the S&W forum.:D

I do belong to a indoor range which has 24/7 access.

I'm retired, so I go in the AM during the week when everyone else is working.:)

Outdoor range, a friend belongs to 2, and I get to tag along.:D

Don't shoot in the wind and rain? I take it you've never shot at Camp Perry then. Couple weekends ago my son and I were at the local state park rifle range when light showers came in. About half the people left and I noticed those remaining had switched to shooting ARs, SKS, AK clones, Mosins and other stuff that had probably been wet several times before.

I have never been to a indoor range, i just go to my friends land lot we called "our range" and shoot. It must suck to not have any outdoor place to use. I wouldnt mind a indoor range, i wish my city would put one in then i could drive 5 minutes to shoot rather than 30

Always preferred shooting outside, but draw the line when inclement weather's involved. Now my old dad, (RIP), would go if Hurricane Katrina was making landfall. The range used to be open every day except Xmas and New Year's day. If he wasn't working, the old man was out there. Rain, snow, tropical heat, didn't matter.

Don't know how lucky you are.

Having property available that is suitable for a range is an ideal situation. Don't have to worry about crowds and crazy people and the only noise you make is your own.

I have a small range out back I can shoot at but recently redeemed last year's Christmas present from my father-in-law, a year range pass to William's Gun Sight's range here in town. I've been there a couple times now and it's a nice facility with covered benches and range masters to keep things under control.
I used to belong to an indoor pistol range but it was a drive and they always seemed to have something going and reserved the lanes when I wasn't working. I let that lapse but was nice the few times I got in there in the winter.
There is a new indoor range open in Flint now I may check out this winter although I understand them expensive.

I'm lucky to belong to a Gun Club with both and outdoor and indoor range. And better yet, the indoor is open 24/7 365.. All you need is your electronic card to gain entry. Usually have the place to myself when i go..

Go in the rain dude, the bad guys don't just work on bright sunny days

^^^^^^ practice in as many conditions as you can, this applies to hunting just as much as bg. Cold weather shooting is a good plan as well.

When I was in the Army they taught me "Train like you fight."

I actually like going out in winter when the air is crisp and a little chilly and the sun is out and there isnt a sound besides birds...then a click-click is heard than a thunderous boom from my 7mm STW and the rolling echo off the valley of mountains that surround me, that my friends is the perfect winter day

Heck, around here if you don't go to the range if it's raining you can only go three months a year. Rain doesn't change what you do - just what you wear. I find it helpful to see how my control changes with a wet grip on the gun. Figure the odds are 3 to 1 my hands might be damp or downright wet if I have to pull out my firearm.

I actually enjoy shooting in the rain and snow. Its good training to get out there when its raining or snowing and do some shooting/drills. last time I went shooting it was raining so hard I had to take of my eye protection to see my target, I know not safe but things happen.

Yea and after some of the firearms ive seen people take out to shoot, rain couldnt do much more than clean them inside and out, i think thats why i hear in town there guns function better when its raining out
