Well I now can join AARP and order off the Senior menu at Perkins.

I turned 55 Sunday. Some days my body reminds me I'm not a kid anymore, but in my mind I'm still young.

Saturday I worked the VFD's chicken BBQ. Seven hours working pretty much non-stop is a lot harder that 7 hours at work. I felt it Sunday.

Sunday Mrs. QD67 took me out for beer and wings, per my request. Watched the Steelers get destroyed by Buffalo. But the wings were good, and I didn't have to drive, so it was OK.

Monday I took a 1/2 day. I didn't get to go shooting due to the BBQ, and my sister is coming this Saturday. So I wanted to get some range time in. Very happy with my Walther P99AS and Glock Model 45. Not so much with my S&W 4516-1.

Finished the day grilling steak, and enjoying the leaves and the mild weather.

So, it was a good couple of days.

Yes, Happy Birthday. My dad was a volunteer fireman, and those guys worked their butts off with all the money-making schemes and the time they put in was unreal. They even had a beer sales thing; they had a guy who would sell them the beer at cost and then they sold it to all the beer drinkers in New Brighton! Yeah, it was illegal, but who's gonna say anything?!
Happy double nickels.

Turned 76 on the 11th. Great idea about thinking what new toy to get at the local gun store. Daughter brought their dog over as we've not had one since Bob had to be put to sleep due to cancer and would loose control of his hips and back legs. I hate to see animals suffer. Daughter's dog Shilo actually talks. Not words per se but will whine, or howl when you do the same to her. Frank

Happy Birthday

Quickdraw, have a Happy birthday, from an old curmudgeon! Enjoy it, and have as many more of 'em as you wish.

Sadly, you are soon to find what your 55yrs of experience is worth in today's society.

I fear you won't be pleased. Just make the best of what comes to pass.

Looking at aarp they are probably just a nightmare for gun owners fer schizzle. Amac seems to be better.

Congratulations you spring chicken. I was able to retire at 48 for the first time. I have been enjoying it for 18 years now. Finally, quit doing the work thing for good at 62. Looking at least another 30-40 years for this ride. I still don't have time to do all that I want in a 24 hour period.

Regards, Rick Gibbs
