3 weeks to the day that I turned in my CCW paperwork, my permit arrived in the mail today! I'm frankly surprised it took this long, as the TBI has had my prints on file for years. First when I renewed my Haz-Mat endorsement on my CDL, again when I got my TN Explosive Handler's Card. Now I'm ready to strap on my 6-gun(actually, I have a 5-gun, a 14-gun BHP, and a 19-gun Beretta 92, but you get the drift...)and head on out...;):D

Just kidding, I have class tonight and the campus is a gun-free zone. I'm taking the responsibility for possessing a CCW and carrying much more seriously than in the previous paragraph. Receiving it is a small victory in a series of small, but painful kicks to the groin, that life has handed out to me recently. Some of which are my fault, but others are just life happening.

Anyway, yay me!

I just said a cheer for you, Ironhand. I'm glad you got it
Been thru that other stuff too. It makes me look at the world a little differently now that I have a small bit of control over my own life.

So I'm not the only one walking around cupping my crotch? Life has been very busy teaching me all kinds of new things. Congratulations on the permit and have fun at class.

After I turned my paper work in at the sheriffs office, it took one week exactly to get approved. Then i had 7 days to go to the DOR and acquire a non drivers ID card with the CCW endorsement on it. Needless to say, I did that about an hour after the sheriff gave me the endorsement papers.
Yeah, good feeling to carry legally. Congratulations to you. Be careful with that gun! I hope you never have to draw it to shoot someone, but if you do you have it.
Peace,
gordon

must be nice. It took 110 days from the day i submitted my paperwork. Here in SC they say up to 90 days but with all the holidays(xmas, new years) it took quite a bit longer. having that extra piece of mind was worth the wait

I carried it today with Mrs. IHJ to the grocery store and I almost forgot it was there, my S&W 49 in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster.

My Beretta 92F? I need a sport coat, and it would clash with my cargo shorts and flip-flops.

Congratulations on getting your permit.
I got mine almost 25 years ago when Florida went "Shall Issue."
Don't really recall how long it took back then, but I have never
left home unarmed since.
Carry every day, and hope you never need it.
Stay safe.

Stu
