Germany's green heart
Got it last wednesday now that we have a new camera I can show it off.
It is a 1977 sig P220 .45acp with the Millet s&w sight and Nill grips.
Came with 2 7 round mags(only option due to the heel mounted magrelease)
Going to shoot it tomorrow.

Best regards from Germany.

I'd love to do that.
Bought a Rossi m-67(1892 copy) levergun yesterday.
Now I'll have to wait 6 months to purchase another handgun:(.

Welcome to the forum. My wife is from Nurnburg and tells me that as a U.S citizen I can never own a firearm there.Even if I lived there for a long time. She's been here for 25 years and never new the exact laws concerning this.
Take us some pictures of your part of Germany. And we all would be interested in your gun ranges.

Hi,

I am not allowed to carry it outside of my property or the shooting club.
I may purchase and own handguns.
I may transport it in a locked case separate from the ammunition.
The document which grants me these rights is called "Waffenbesitzkarte". Took me 12 months to get it. and quite a few €.
Most Germans(except for Police, Army and people with carry permit) are not even allowed to shoot targets resembling or representing humans.

A "Waffenschein" is a carry permit which is impossible to get only VIP or security guards etc. get one.

Hi,

I will take a few pictures tomorrow(our shooting club is located in a train station and the oldest club in town, est. 1660).

You may own a firearm, this is not related to your nationality.
All you need:

1. Reliability:(no criminal records e.g.: drunk driving etc., no physical or mental inabilities)

Age of 21(with mental checkup mandatory) or 25(no mental checkup required)

2. Proof of firearms competence.: all major German shooting associations offer one day courses for a certificate of firearms competence(Waffensachkunde)

You have to be a member of a (German) shooting club for at least 12 months and have to go there and shoot 18 times min.

3. Proof of safe storage of firearms:
You need a certified safe german class "B" for pistols and revolvers.
Class "A" is enough for rifles.(class A and B safes are quite cheap but you then have to store ammo separately)
New European class "0" is also acceptable then you may keep ammo and gun in the same safe

Best regards,

Christian

Those older W. German made P220's are some great guns lots of guys on the Sig Forum boar have them and lots of guys want them. I have a P6 that came from N. Westpahlia and it is a 1982 mopdel and in great shape for that age. I know when you shoot yours you are going to love the accuracy. I also have a P229R made in Exeter which was a CPO I love it too. I not not however knocking anyother pistols because I have a Beretta 92f and a S & W 5903 TSW anda Bersa. Can't fault any of them. By the way the grips look gopod and if you don't mind saying how much you gave for it I would like to know what sort-a deal you got on it. Thanks and good luck with your new pistol.

I paid 680€ all parts have the same serial number. A new X-Six would have cost me at least 3 times as much.
By the way I found the Letter S on the frame under the main spring after removing the grips don't know what it stands for.
Remember an article about it but couldn't find it anymore.
Any idea?

As you might guess from my screen name, I think a lot of this pistol. I bought my West German 220 in 1991 and have carried it every day on the job since. It is ridiculously accurate and completely reliable.
