It's over.

Paul:

I've admired your work from afar for years. Your eye problem is not an uncommon one. My Dad is in similar straights. Me, too some day ?

Enjoy your retirement. With your talents, I'm sure you will discover and enjoy new passions.

Well, at least you ain't been reported dead again. ;)
I'm not making light of your situation, old friend. I figured I knew your twisted sense of humor (matching mine) well enough to get by with that. :D
I hate to hear it. I, too, hope the new Doc is a miracle worker.
Godspeed!

Dear friends and members. I should have posted this six months ago but I didn't want to give in.
My eyesight is failing. Macular degeneration. It's not real serious for regular everyday stuff but affects my nearsightedness the most. Hence I can't see the fine lines that well anymore.
I still have some stocks from clients which I will be sending back this week. My apologies for not disclosing this sooner.
Not looking for any sympathies. I'm old and have had a great run at life doing many different things and meeting some wonderful people.
I go to see another doctor Tuesday but I'm just whistling in the wind.
Thanks for the many wonderful moments here. I'll still be around with my screen set at 170%. :)

Best regards to all,
Paul M Gendron

I posted this here because most of my work came from here. If the ADMIN decides to move it, so be it

Awe, we're so sorry to hear that Brother Paul, I'm extremely grateful to have a pair of grips that you loved back to life... Thanks for being there for us! Lots of love and blessings for life and good health... being an older gent has lots of blessings, and a few pitfalls....

A true artist never goes away. They live on through Their work. Many a S&W is more beautiful because of You and I wish You all the best in the years to come.

That is a beautiful sentiment and I would like to second it.

And after that tribute I hate to be crass but... Paul, is there anyone taking up the banner of your craft? Anyone that you would recommend sending our tired and wretched S&W stocks to for new life?

Paul, I'm sorry to hear this. I've seen many specimens of your amazing work on this forum, and read countless referrals saying you are the very best.

I'm headed in the same direction, with early stage macular degeneration. I hope as it advances I can keep the kind of positive attitude you are displaying.

Well DANG!!! Now I know why you did not answer my PM.
My stocks aren't near so important as your well being.
Hope things work out some way for you. You have earned all of our gratitude and respect.
Best wishes to you.

Edit: forgot to add thanks for this, my favorite post of yours! Really woke a lot of us up and helped the forum.
New guys

I don't know you, but the responses here speaks volumes for the work you have done and the character, that has engendered these many friendships. I also appreciate your spirit, under the circumstances, and wish you the best, as you continue forward. God bless!:)

DW, losing your eyesight is tough and i understand your situation..

several years ago i had multiple surgeries to correct torn and detached retinas...this left me with limited sight in the left eye and glaucoma in the right.....it took some time to get use to not being able to do some of the things that i previously enjoyed...

Paul,
Thanks for all you have done for not only me, but many others..Best of luck with your new doctor.. And please hang out here as often as you are able ..
Best,
JIM...................

Wishing you the best....and technology is always changing - there may be something out there to help soon.

Wish you the best. Ain't gettin' old fun ?? The Golden Years.
All we can do is the best with the hand dealt us.
