Iver Johnson 9mm 1911

I am in the market for a commander size 9mm 1911. Colt and Springfield cost abit more that I want to pay right now. So I found this Iver Johnson in my price range but I know nothing about this company. Anyone have one or know about them?

I can't help you much as I don't have one. But I came very close to buying a couple of them about 8-9 years ago at a very good price, as I remember somewhat less than $300 each. But I had to buy both to get that price and I wanted only one. They seemed very well made, as I remember, and made in the Philippines, but I don't think by Armscor.

Seems to be a solid pistol. But as the article mentioned, may need some minor tuning.
