I picked this up from a local guy this morning. Honestly, I know next to nothing about these. But It was cheap and it seems to be in excellent mechanical condition. I figured it would make a nice little plinker.
left side of barrel marked 22 SUPERSHOT SEALED EIGHT.
Top of barrel: Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works
Fitchburg, Mass, USA
Serial # L315XX

Not a whole lot on the net about it. Best I can tell its a 2nd Model made after WW II. I haven't been able to find a serial number reference.

Can anybody help me date this gun? What can y'all tell me about it?

This was a higher end gun for Iver Johnson. The grip was more often than not made from rather nicely figured walnut, as is the case with your example. The "Sealed" part of its name referenced the recesses machined into the cylinder face and extractor so that the rounds seated flush. An L315XX serial number dates its manufacture to 1947. IJ consistently produced 2,660 of this model per year from 1946 through 1958.

My dad had a Sealed 8 when I was a sprout. Would have been first gun I fired. I remember sitting in his lap shooting at the glass inserts from mason jar lids at 3 or 4 yrs old. For some reason he either sold or traded it to guy he worked with. In later years could never get guy to part with it. When he passed went to sale, there it was in condition that must have resulted from keeping it under a rock. Didn’t bid on it after years of trying to get it back.
