I want to replace a bent ejector rod . Which end do you file to get the fit right on the replacement ? Do you remove a little and try the fit or is there another method ?

The outboard end that engages the forward locking bolt is what is filed to fit. It should be flush with the center pin when cylinder is open and the end pressed flush against the extractor hub.

Thanks, john traveler, the operation was a success and the mod 49 is back in good working order .
