Just a note regarding Roll Pins.........
AGAIN, just my opinion of course, BUT when I have replaced standard Factory grips with fine Ivory, Stag, or rare wood grips on a Revolver I sometimes replace the Roll Pin with one of my custom made solid pins made from Drill Rod. I like the fact that I can make the ends super smooth and slightly domed, and have a custom fit that will not damage the grips in any way. Factory Roll Pins are sometimes sharp, uneven, and of course hollow that can collect moisture and dirt. They can also cut into grips if they get loose.
Not saying this is necessary for most applications it is simply a way to not be bothered with buying new roll pins should they chip, break or get lost. If you do not have Drill Rod Blanks, you can of course always use the rear end of a Drill Bit of appropriate size (Number Drills are best because of their size availability) and inexpensive cost. THIS is where a Dremel Tool comes in handy - to cut and polish it.
Works like a charm!
