Bought Hogue Monogrip for my J 637-2 and instructions say to remove the stock grip pin and replace it with their pin. Problem is I can't remove the stock pin with light force applied.

I don't want to use any more force before asking someone; how do I remove it without doing any damage?

I am not handy and do not have a great variety of tools. Thanks for any help.

I'm not handy with tools, myself, and don't have many anyway. I used a hammer and a little tiny nail I found in my kitchen drawer. I didn't even have a vise. I put a towel over the frame so I wouldn't scratch it, then laid it on a barbell plate, held it down with one foot with the frame over the edge, and hit it with the hammer a few times using the tiny nail as a punch.

Now, I'm not recommending this method to everyone, you understand, but it worked like a charm for me with no harm to the gun at all.

After all, necessity is the mother of invention.

Thanks guys. It worked. Now if I can just get the dang grip screw to engage the threads on the stirrup.
