Who makes a good pocket holster for a 37? Does anybody just put it in their jacket without a holster? who makes a good IWB?

Thanks,

A pocket holster for a 37 is not a good option IMO.Its too easy for the hammer to catch when drawing.I carry mine in a OWB pancake.

In Ga, it is illigal to carry a gun without it being in a holster of some sort. The holster covers the trigger and keeps the gun oriented correctly in your pocket. It would be a poor day if you need your gun, reached in your pocket and only had the barrel to grab because it had shifted 'round inside the pocket. It would be a worse day if your keys or maybe just the branch of the bush you just tripped over dug into the trigger and pushed it back abit. Even if it is just a Uncle Mike's or homemade, use something. Those around you and those who care and depend upon you would appreicate it.

I use an Uncle Mike's for all of my J frames. It's cheap, keeps the gun in the proper position, and breaks up the outline of the gun in my pocket.

I have had a Model 37 since about 1976. I carried it while working vice & narcotics many years ago.

Great little piece for summertime, disappears under a golf shirt in a clip-on IWB. Also rides easily in the pocket of my leather vest or leather jacket while riding the Harley (no holster, just the inner pocket).

Not the ideal handgun for combat or competition, but there is a definite place for the small and lightweight .38 Special revolver. I will never feel unarmed with it.

If I were still a working cop I would certainly carry more gun. Then again, if I knew that I would have to defend myself on a given day I would probably carry the Remington 870, and the M1 carbine, and a couple of .45's, maybe a flame-thrower.

Ray at Lobo GunLeather (who just posted above) makes an excellent leather pocket holster. I have two that I use for my 640, one in a lightweight leather rough side out, and one in a slightly thicker leather smooth side out. They are $29.95 shipped, IMO absolutely the best design/quality/price combination that you will find anywhere Plus, Ray is a forum member and a great guy to deal with.

I'm x2 with Sonny on this. Love my Barami ( Never saw one in white BTW, cool!) My bobbed mod 60 gets carried like this.
Second choice of me is the UIcle Mikes. Effective, doesn't add bulk and is easy on the guns finish.

I have a couple of pocket holsters from Robert Mika. He does really nice work, the holsters work well and they are available in colors. The one I have works well for a Model 60 or a Model 49. When I have dealt with him it has been nothing but a good experience.
