J-frame internal lock help needed ...

Hi all,

Quite a while ago, I ground the lug off of my 637's internal lock, making the lock inoperable. I now plan on selling this revolver, but don't feel right doing so without having a properly working lock.

Where can I get an internal lock? Any of you kind folks have one kicking around?

Call S&W if BKD can't find his. They will send you another one but it may cost you but they are understanding. For future reference the lock can be made inoperable by simply removing the flag on the lock, it comes right out. Then if you sell the gun just put the flag back in. By just removing the flag the side hole is still filled, the tiny hole toward the rear is all that's exposed. There is no reason to grind away anything. This is just an FYI for everybody who wants to grind away and not just on you flaman.

Nope, it won't happen. The parts are restricted. Only they can repair the gun.

I will buy your old one if you want to get rid of it, I guess it will fit a 340.
