J Frame Photos, Let's See Yours

My new 442PC. What I already love about this gun is that it can go from classic looking to lighted and lasered up and back in minutes. Customization is fun. I think i may try to find some silver/black altamont wood grips and a tyler t-grip in silver next. Kind of like the one above me!

I realize this is a very old thread, but maybe you'll still see this, besides it's a great thread. It took me a while, but it finally dawned on me to do the same thing. It doesn't take up any more room in my pocket to put one extra round in it. I carry anywhere from 2 to 4 speed strips at any given time and if I have 4, that give me almost another full cylinder. Granted I'll probably never need to even use the gun in self defense (at least I hope not) and even if I did, I highly doubt I'll go through 25 rounds! But I said to myself, why not carry an extra round in it? Doesn't make it harder to reload and it actually makes a lot of sense. Again, I'll probably never need to use my gun or all those rounds, but we don't carry guns because it's guaranteed that we'll never need it right? We carry because it's always possible, so why not have the extra round per strip? I've carried them full ever since.

I carry 6 round strips with my 5 shot and 8 round strips with my 7 shot. Extra slot? Snake shot. It has come in useful.

Is the rubber band there to take up dead space in the grip? Might try it out

The main reason I do that is because without them on there, my right thumb is just too close to my trigger finger and they end up touching and that bugs me. So the extra girth keeps my right thumb out of the way.

It probably gives a little cushion from recoil too.

" .38 Chiefs Special Model of 1953 NEW J frame". That's the official description. Still has the Baby J earlier hammer, 4 screw side plate, satin bluing, "new" style trigger guard and serrated ramp front sight. And this one wears India Sambar Stag grips.:)

Glad to see someone who has a set of brass b.... Well, you get the idea. I was starting to think I was the only person who'd put magna grips on a J frame 357. Glad to see someone else put there doesn't have padded, cushioned, soft rubbers on their compact pocket cannon. Very nice!

Hahahaha, agreed! I'm putting a set of Magna's from Altamont and a Tyler-T grip on my 3" barreled 629... When you have big hands and wrists the slim Magna/Tyler-T profile fits your palms a lot like a 1911 does... for me at least they do!

Those 3" J-frames have a nice, balanced look.

They certainly do! They balance 95% as well as a 3", 3/4 lugged "N" frame... Of which are the most balanced of all handguns I've ever shot/carried/handled!

The utility of a "J" frame with 1 7/8" & 3" barrels is unparalleled... I find myself carrying (2) 1 7/8" barreled "J" frames around town more and more in this summer heat!
