J Frame Snub Owners: What is your favorite EDC Holster?

I’m a smaller guy so pocket carry for me is other options. My J frame (649-3) resides in a kangaroo carry over a t-shirt under button down ready for a Superman draw in an emergency (short sleeve summer, long sleeve winter) 365 if chosen…works for me every where but work, never knowing what position I may be in as an electrician.

642 in right front pocket in a no name sticky holster that works great.

I seldom carry a gun on my person anymore, but several years ago bought a Mika pocket holster. It works well with any snubnose Chief (if your pockets aren't too small) and the gun doesn't shift around.

"For you fellas who carry offside in a pocket holster, why do you carry offside?"

@onomea ...

Balance of power.

I appreciate all you folks who pocket carry. I gave it a serious trial
because all of you are so convinced it's the best for you. Didn't
work for me.

Lobo Gun Leather Enhanced Pancake, strong side, 4 o'clock. Easy.
I always wear a vest.

In case some perp takes out your strong arm.

"NY reload?"
@ Onmea ...

Great question. Thanks for asking.

As for a NY Re-Load that would be no... However, I am a minimalist by nature, to say the least, and I don't carry many things in terms of edc. I feel a greater amount of mobility and power when I carry the opposite of the dominant side. I am an equal shot either left or right. I am a firm believer in great physical dexterity and related skill sets.

For my J frames, I use two K L Null holsters. I use a GSS on my belt and a SPS in my pocket. I also have one of his shoulder holsters for wear with a suit on more formal occasions. All three work as well as it is possible to work. He makes the best leather that there is, IMHO.

I am guessing you that have SMZ shoulder holster ... if so, how do you like it? Null makes some very cool stuff. Certainly, he is the best of the best when it comes to leather craft and design... and of course Paris Theodore / Seventrees, LTD. comes to mind! ;)

Just a question of curiosity here ...

What is your favorite everyday carry method & holster?

As for myself, hands down, I love the (front) pocket carry method & holster. Certainly, my Scandium / Ti 360 PD makes it an obvious choice due to its ultra-light weight and compactness.

Albeit, my S&W 360 PD has an exposed hammer spur and you would think it's a hindering feature for pocket carry, but I have overcome this issue through daily training and drilling myself to death to block the hammer spur with my drawing hand's thumb.

As a result, I now have a draw that is smooth and consistent; however, I do believe that a well-designed holster will help mitigate drag and enable you to have a smooth draw.

My favorite holster is the Mika Pocket Holster. It works extremely well as there is virtually no hang-up when drawing the spurred revolver from the pocket. I am probably the in the minority here, as I prefer the SA/DA snub over the DA-only snub. There are many reasons for this, but I am sure that I am one of the very few who do.

My 638’s riding in a Mika as this is written. Fits in a Jean pocket with no issue. Speed strip in the watch pocket and I’m good to go.

I'm very happy with my Palmetto Leather J frame pocket holster. It doesn't move around in the pocket, lets go of the gun on the draw every time, and prints like a wallet. The only negative I can think of is that they can take a while to get.

I use a Blue Force Gear pocket holster, the thinnest & lightest on the market.

I was carrying my M442-2 in a Don Hume JIT holster until it fell out when I took my coat off. I them went back to my old Tex Shoemaker OWB holster (w/ strap across the trigger guard). Not a quick draw holster but it’s secure (and I like it so much that I bought another a couple years ago).

I saw a video.....

BUT!

When I carry my Walther CCP (alternate EDC; no picture of that holster) in a pocket it goes into a Remora pocket holster. That's an excellent fit plus, if I am inclined, I can discretely take the whole thing out of my pocket and turn it into an IWB in a matter of seconds. It stays right where I put it![/quote]

I saw a video where the guy from Lucky Gunner really badmouths the Remora pocket holster. Obviously your opinion differs. I like my Remora shoulder rig. One thing I remember him saying was that it didn't have any retention. I don't know why you would want such in a pocket holster but if you wear it as an IWB holster, maybe that's not good.
