J Frame Snub Owners: What is your favorite EDC Holster?

I use the philster enigma express, with the "city special" J frame holster.

I saw a video where the guy from Lucky Gunner really badmouths the Remora pocket holster. Obviously your opinion differs. I like my Remora shoulder rig. One thing I remember him saying was that it didn't have any retention. I don't know why you would want such in a pocket holster but if you wear it as an IWB holster, maybe that's not good.

I am not sure how much retention Lucky Gunner requires but when it's IWB with a belt around it the gun isn't going anywhere. Now, maybe if you're running hell-bent-for-election there could be a problem, I dunno, I don't do any kind of running. :D

Then there is always something new

I have recently acquired a Mika holster for my J-frame. It disappears in my pocket as easily as the Galco pocket holster pictured with it. The big difference is that the gun comes out more easily, the holster never moves, and the gun can be easily reholstered. The Galco Summer Comfort IWB in the picture is used on those days when I need that M649 more easily accessible than when it's in a pocket. Certain times when driving.....think about that and you'll understand.....

I have Mika holsters for Makarovs, CZ 75B, CZ 97B, CZ 82, and J-Frame M49 Bodyguard. Best and simplest pocket holsters for a fair price. After 18 years they're still in great shape and, as you say, easy to reholster one-handed.

When I need a leather holster I have an old Bianchi paddle holster I wear as a cross draw.

I'd rather carry a J Frame in a folded paper lunch bag than an Uncle Mike's anything.

Pocket Concealment Systems is the answer:

Pretty pocket holster.

Uncle Mike's holsters have their place, just as Harbor Freight Tools have their place.

As far as a paper bag, I have pocket carried using a folded BANDANNA & handkerchief. I have also used a loop of 550 cord to IWB* a pistol, too. FTR: UM, bandanna, and 550 cord are not my preference, but have served when better options were not available.

* Mexican Carry Plus? Colombian Carry?

For you fellas who carry offside in a pocket holster, why do you carry offside?
I have been looking for that Mas Ayoob video I talked about in my 2023 comment here. It is just gone. It was not ever on the Wilson Combat Channel and the place where I am now sure I saw it has taken it down.
Anyway the offside pocket carry started only for the backup gun at first, but something happened.
I practiced.
After so many repetitions with the thing I no longer feel any need to carry it anywhere else even if it is the only gun on me. I have a lifelong habit standing around with my hand in my pocket anyway.
Kyle Defoor says "my strong side' and my other strong side."

Best Regards!

When carrying an Airweight I generally opt for a Vedder pocket holster. For my all steel J-frames and Ruger SP101's , I really like a Galco Combat Master pancake holster as it provides good weight distribution and is quite comfortable.

For several years I carried an early 80's production Model 60 with a bobbed hammer in a Mika pocket holster. While I still have that gun and holster, these days I carry a 642 in an Alabama Holster pocket holster. I love the thumb push-off tab on those holsters. You can break the revolver free from the holster discretely while still in the pocket. I use one of their holsters for my Bodyguard 2.0 also.

I just acquired this one which I believe is of older manufacture. I don't know if all the Bianchi leather is now "Hecho en Mexico" and if so what the quality is like.

At the risk of ridicule, as a last resort, and when there is nothing else available, one of those neoprene sleeves we use to help keep drinks cold can be a pocket holster for a J frame…it will disguise the cylinder print in the pocket, and stay put when the 5 shot is pulled….ok, I am braced for the avalanche of attacks!😃
