Jeans, where to find good ones

E-BAY!!!! Wrangler 13MWZ Prorodeo.....I buy used, like new so I can afford more Smiths.

Carhartt and Dickies are my choice althought dickies pockets are alittle to shallow and small for pocket carry of my 642, just my experience.

Walmart Wranglers for about $16 work fine for me. They last for years. But I'm not wearing anything labeled "Faded Glory". I wouldn't wear anything labeled "Over The Hill" either.

I haven't seen a pair of Levi's made in the USA in 20 years. Where are you buying new American made Levi's?

I agree Levi Strauss is anti gun.

Then so are:
Circle K
Blue Cross Insurance
Hallmark Cards
KC Royals owner Lamar Hunt
Southwestern Bell
Sprint
St Louis Cardinals owner
Time Warner
CBS
Gannett News
and about 100,000 more large companies.

Will someone stop trading with all these places? Will you drop your Blue Cross coverage?

We all do business with anti gun companies and individually our lack of trading with them only effects us since the little money we spend with them has zero effect on the business overall.

I learned a long time ago that letters, emails and public pressure goes a lot longer with companies than just not buying their products.

Not to say that I am against boycotting companies but there are other ways to hit their pocket book. Write letters to the media where they advertise and tell them that you will not puchase their paper or such as long as they advertise for XYZ. If about 200 more do the same, that media outlet will contact the company and suggest they change their ways. We did this with a local company and got a written apology from the company and a promise to change their policy regarding contributions.

I try to support these companies as much as I can. You can find a link to Diamond Gusset jeans here. I have purchased them and like the cut and they wear just fine. I think the diamond gusset cut makes them much more comfortable too. IIRC the last time I purchased a couple of pairs, they paid shipping, but maybe it was just a special. If you call them you get a real human being to talk with as well.

Langston's in OKC.- langstons.com. I just bought Wrangler 13MWZ jeans for $22.00 / pair plus shipping on sale. I got the "plus" size for $2.00 a pair extra; in fact, it was this thread that made me think about them and get a couple of pairs. I am a regular there and I've even been to the store in the old stockyard district. I was in OKC a few years ago on business and found them and I've been buying from them ever since.

+1 for Diamond Gussett jeans. Good construction, very comfy, decent pocket carry front pockets, they're made in the USA, and the customer service is terrific, too.

I would give Carrhart's a try, too, since they are well made and made (most of them but not all) in the USA.

Some of my favorite pants are Wrangler Riggs work pants. Some of the jeans have a double knee, like Carhartts, but the ones I really like are in a ripstop poly/cotton blend that has a hard finish and wears like iron. All the Riggs have a diamond gusset in the crotch and a watch fob pocket big enough to swallow a good-sized clip folder.

Another sturdy brand is Arborwear, made for guys who shinny up trees for a living. Expensive, and almost worth it, really expensive if you get them from Aerostich RiderWearhouse, they also have a diamond gusset, which is great if you have stubby legs that you have to throw over a tall motorbike.

I have yet to try a pair of Duluth Trading Company's Ballroom jeans, which also have this feature.

I get my Wranglers from Target and they are under $20.00 The Levi Strauss Company is VERY ANTI-GUN and give many dollars to any anti-gun group that comes along. They are also anti Boy Scouts. They give thousands and thousands of dollars to other anti-family and what I consider to be anti-American causes. I will not support their agenda or wear their clothes.

I wasn't aware of this but I will surely keep it in mind for the future. Thanks...........................

Diamond Gussett gets my vote

I ordered from them and talked with a real person the first time I ordered, got great service all around. Two years later I wanted to order again and the same guy took my order, when I did not remember offhand what stock # I had ordered before he looked it up and took care of me. I first bought them for riding my motorcycle but they are so comfy they are all that I like to wear(the fit on the ones I wear is very similar to the old levis 501 buttonfly)

This is a great post. Thanks for the info, guys. I will have to look into the Carharrts/Dickies/Diamond Gussets the next time I'm shopping for jeans.

For most of my adult life, it seemed I couldn't afford anything except the cheapest jeans that were available. When I finally got a civilian job and was making a few bucks, I decided to treat myself to some Levi's...whenever I found some on sale. Then later I learned how anti-gun they are...now I am almost embarrassed to wear them. I will not be buying any more Levi's, that's for sure.

IMHO, if all gun owners and freedom-minded individuals chose to boycott Levi jeans, we could make a real impact on their sales. Of course, so long as people feel that their numbers are insignificant, no message can be sent. It's pretty much the same as deciding not to vote...since your one vote can't accomplish much, why bother?

I don't buy any Levi's products, try not to patronize any anti-gun company and try my best to buy only stuff Made in US of A.

When I can't avoid using them, I use a NRA-ILA credit card so they end up making a donation to an organization that opposes their viewpoint. :D

Cabelas brand jeans are pretty good. Quality is between Carhartt and Walmart Wranglers. Sizes run just like Wranglers. They come in 2 colors dark blue and washed. Keep an eye on Cabelas WS. Their jeans and Carhartts frequently go on sale. With my current job status I wear the butt out of the jeans first. If you don't get real dirty on the job, wash your jeans inside out to keep them from fading.

You do know that LEVI is an Anti-Gun company!!!

I stopped buying their products 20 years ago..........

I sent them an email complaining about their ANTI-GUN stance and received a reply telling me not to worry because now all of their commercials will have an alternate version for those of the gay persuasion.

I've tried a couple of brands (haven't been to Tractor Supply yet though) and really like the Fire Hose material jeans from Duluth Trading Co. They are like indestructible - - - And have a LOT of pockets. :)

If you really need another reason not to buy Levi's, the ones they sell now have only 5 belt loops. I wouldn't give you $2 for blue jeans with 5 loops.

Here's the thing and it applies to all brands, you can't trust their sizing.

I used to buy 32X32s and they fit great but the last few years they just don't fit at all.

Straight out of the washer I stretch them around the top of a dining room chair until they dry and they're a few inches shy of comfortable.

Funny thing is only the waist is off, the length is still okay.

Must be a quality control issue. It's really disappointing when you can't count on a company to keep the customer in mind.
