Jeans, where to find good ones

If you really need another reason not to buy Levi's, the ones they sell now have only 5 belt loops. I wouldn't give you $2 for blue jeans with 5 loops.

Wrangler ProRodeo's at Tractor Supply have 7 loops and fit great an wear great. They have a different weave with a little "give" than Levis and others.

I agree Levi Strauss is anti gun.

Then so are:
Circle K
Blue Cross Insurance
Hallmark Cards
KC Royals owner Lamar Hunt
Southwestern Bell
Sprint
St Louis Cardinals owner
Time Warner
CBS
Gannett News
and about 100,000 more large companies.

Will someone stop trading with all these places?.

Thank you.And the Levis that i buy from E-Bay are lightly used American ones from individuals.

I'm another who buys Wrangler Pro Rodeo jeans (7 belt loops) at Tractor Supply for around $27 a pair.

If quick-drying is a desired trait, check out Rock Jeans by RailRiders, purveyors of high-quality technical outdoor sports clothing. These are cut similarly to conventional cotton jeans, but are made of tough nylon canvas which is lighter and softer than denim, reinforced at the cuffs, knees, and seat, accomodate 1-1/2" belts, have a handy side pocket for a knife, zip-closed rear pockets. Expensive, but apparently extremely durable --- mine just don't show any wear or tear.

Costco's Kirtland brand are probably made overseas by preteens but retail for $12.95 and I get 8-10 months out of a pair. The belt loops are the first things to wear out on mine because of the tools I carry in my back pockets and on the belt when working.

Avoid Guide Gear brand from Sportsmans Guide catalog. I've bought both their fleece and flannel lined for hunting and cold weather riding. The flannel held up decently , but the fleece lined fell apart with just a few washings.

My biggest problem is finding pants in 28 length. All the stuff seems to be for tall people and I seem to be shrinking.

try this:

Men's Clothing: Find the Hottest Looks in Men's Clothes at Express

yes they sell junk but they also sell levi's 501 unwashed just like old times. only thing is I can only find them in the button down. nothing in zipper for unwashed. sears for a long time was the last holdout for unwashed original levi's. maybe some small town markets still have them. also western wear stores are good only many do not sell levi's.

good thread. what a shame, something so american that has sold out. while in the coast guard and on leave in germany we would have the locals offering to buy the levi's we were wearing. why doesn't anyone appreciate quality these days?

Thanks for this thread guys. I gave up Levi's years ago due to their anti-gun ways and have been searching for a regular replacement ever since.

They haven't been discussed much so I'll add my experience with Duluth's, they are tough as nails. The front pockets are EXTREMELY deep, which comes in handy for folks that like to keep J frames in there. The only negative is that they run a little on the baggy side.

After reading some of the posts on this thread, I ordered a pair of Diamond Gussett jeans and received them in about 3 business days. They were true to size before and after washing. I am very happy with them and will be ordering more from them in the future.

Carhart at TSC stores. I tried a couple of pair of CE Schmidt there and they are a quality jean but they don't fit me as well as Carhart so in the future I'll spring for them when the go on sale.

Another vote for Tractor Supply. The denim shirts last just like the jeans. Last fall I got two pairs for about 10 bucks each, had some sort of sale going on. I'm fixed for a while. WG

When I finally got a civilian job and was making a few bucks, I decided to treat myself to some Levi's...whenever I found some on sale. Then later I learned how anti-gun they are...I will not be buying any more Levi's, that's for sure.

IMHO, if all gun owners and freedom-minded individuals chose to boycott Levi jeans, we could make a real impact on their sales. Of course, so long as people feel that their numbers are insignificant, no message can be sent. It's pretty much the same as deciding not to vote...since your one vote can't accomplish much, why bother?

Bingo. There's alot of truth here. Levi's are anti-gun so I will avoid them whenever possible. Lately I have been buying Carthardt and they do nicely. I always object to the "resistance is futile" crowd. If a company takes it's profits to support anti-gun propaganda, guess what? I reserve the right to buy my jeans from one of the other 100 companies that make blue jeans. It's a homogeneous product and substutes are all over the place. It's a monopolistically competitive market. Many sellers offerring a slightly differentiated product. From a business standpoint it's foolish for any company to take a stance like this since substitues are easily found.

If you like your guns, find another brand of jeans to buy. Carhardt and Arborwear are two good ones for durability.
