If a rifle is not particularly accurate it needs to be banned because it has no legitimate sporting purpose. If a rifle is highly accurate it should be banned as a 'sniper rifle'.
Guns should not be openly carried because it causes fear and anxiety among the public. Guns should not be carried concealed because that indicates criminal intent.
If we can ban firearms/magazines that hold more than ten rounds it will be easier to ban those that hold more than 8, or 5, or 2.
The best approach so far seems to be controlling public education so that firearms and gun owners can be demonized in the minds of young people. Fear sells very well, especially when it is cultivated early in life.
All of this has been going on for over 50 years. The anti-gun crowd will never stop pushing for greater and greater gun control with the ultimate goal being a total ban. We can never stop resisting, and it is way past the time when any compromises should be seriously considered, as it is clear that the game plan is an incremental encroachment leading to prohibition.
Just say NO.
