Am I that far out of the loop? Why has this case gotten so much attention media wise, why does it seem more important than the happenings in Libya? (besides the obvious). Who is this woman. I understand that the victims family would care and that the defendants family would care and the lawyers would care and the judge and jury would care. But why anyone else? Why do we make a spectacle out of a murder? I bet she gets a reality show while she is in prison.

Believe it or not I live in Arizona and I had to ask someone what it was all about as it was splashed all over TV while I was waiting for a doctors appointment. I pay very little attention to the "mainstream news media" these days an I haven't had the news on TV on for months.

Well, you might think differently if you knew that he's racked up --- pay close attention here --- $25 million dollars in settlements for his department's malfeasance, including wrongful death settlements by his abusive detention officers, and etc., etc. It's easy to cheer him on from the distant sidelines, not quite so easy when your tax dollars are being squandered defending (usually unsuccessfully) or settling actions against his heavy handed, overarching, racist policies.

Funny, but I don't feel embarrassed or shamed at all to support Sheriff Joe.
Must be the majority in Maricopa agree with me... The recall effort is falling well short of the necessary signatures to remove him from office.
In fact, the petition drive is going so badly that the campaign has had to stoop to paying it's "volunteers" to gather signatures. As of two weeks ago, you are still not even at the 2/3 mark.
If what you are saying is true, people would be lining up in droves to sign.
I think they you have another agenda and your "racist" comment is very telling.

I'm still holding up my opinion that we need hard labor in a quarry as punishment. 18h/day every day. Not just sitting in a cell, abusing the system, wasting tax $ and allow them to become famous from inside a prison.

This is just my opinion so don't get all riled up about it but, I believe this girl to be a lying, manipulative and a very dangerous person with obvious mental disorders. I am also against the death penalty as I believe only the Good Lord has the right to take a life unless its in defense of a nation or in defense of yourself or another who is under immediate threat of harm or death. Hard labor that benefits the public for the rest of their natural life is probably worse than immediate freedom with a needle. Let her (and others like her) then decide when she's had enough and decides to "end it" in whatever method she can dream up.

Cnn said yesterday that after a meeting between the judge, her, and her attys that the sentencing was POSTPONED TILL NEXT WEDNESDAY. Wonder why.

What does this trial have to do with The Sheriff?? A Mesa PD case, prosecuted in Superior Court... But we have been called racist before, by the DOJ when they had their very public announcement that they were coming to "investigate" The Racist Sheriff and his racist Deputies. A couple years later they left quietly, with no findings of even the slightest basis for any charges or legal action. --- pay close attention here---No racism nor "heavy handed" tactics were uncovered by the Federal DOJ investigators. Maybe you weren't aware of this because they didn't bother with a news conference announcing their lack of findings after a complete and thorough investigation. I guess throwing around the racist label is fashionable in your part of town, but it's a ridiculous, hateful, baseless charge.

The trial took longer than necessary. She was found guilty-at last and I believe she would do it again if given the opportunity. Now what do they do? They interview her after the verdict asking her opinion about it all. 
She didn't make it to Go and needs to find herself directly in jail for a short stay. Then, just a short hop and skip to the table and needle and on to a dirt nap.

In my experience the death penalty will take at least 8 years....and that is quick now days..
