I read and enjoyed all of his early books up to and including The House. I saw the Rooster Bar at the library as a new arrival and thought I would try it. What a piece of ****! I am so glad I didn't spend money to buy it. There is no plot worth plotting, no characters with any substance, there is very little conflict and what there is disappears without a fight. An obvious money grab for Grisham and a waste of ink and paper.

I've read a number of his earlier books, but his cocky tone gets tiresome. After the first few, they all seem the same. If I'm not mistaken, he's anti-gun.

You're correct. I tried one of his books and quit when I saw how he views guns. I didn't particularly like his writing, anyway.
