30 years ago today, I was in Navy boot camp in San Diego. Almost everyone in my company was saddened by the news. But it didn't even come close to the loss I felt when George Harrison died.

Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no heaven
No hell below us
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one
What a fool . . .

Two great tragedies that day. John Lennon was killed, and I married my son's mother. The wrong person was shot.
If memory serves me right Lennon bought the New York police bullet proof vests and at the same time spent a lot of money with the local drug dealers. Isn't that kinda like playing both sides from the middle?
