What makes yours or my beliefs any more valid than than anyone elses? This is America. The last I heard everyone has the right to think, believe, and worship (or not), as they choose. This includes people on the fringes. Live and let live.
My beliefs are rooted in the belief that all men are created
equal, with certain inalienable rights.
All other beliefs are inferior.

I agree, Gary....up to the point where other peoples beliefs involve cutting people's heads off or indiscriminately blowing them up. Then "live and let live" goes right out the window.
As for John Lennon and the Beatles, I'm not a fan of the music and don't understand the mania but I won't knock others for enjoying it.

I am not placing a value on yours or anyone's beliefs. My point was that in this country everyone has a right to believe as they want. This includes people who's beliefs most of us find repugnant. It is called freedom. If all men are created equal, with certain inalienable rights, this is the only way it can be.
I agree. Hopefully "live and let live" doesn't involve cutting people's heads off or blowing them up. I was never much of a Beatles fan either.

Seems you are free to disparage any dead celebrity you want..of course, if you say anything bad about John Wayne or Gary Cooper, you will probably be run out of the forum on a rail...mayne we should all learn to leave RIP threads alone if we don't have anything nice to say...

I have never understood the attraction of the Beatles. How are they so revered when their rivals included Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother and the Holding Company(Janice Joplin), Crosby Stills and Nash, Santana, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Grateful Dead and man that's just a start. You could literally go on forever with a Discography listing the era's top rated songs and albums. The Beatles were nothing more than that era's Hanson or Justin Bieber. A pop group that made a whole lot of money smiling for little girls. When their resident smart ass made the comment that "We're more popular than Jesus Christ," it made them even more popular because a bunch of mommies and daddies told their kids they couldn't have Beatles records. The news media recognized Lennon's death because he lived his life as an attention hound with a big mouth. These kinds of people are known as "media darlings."

Any/every time I hear the muslems think I need killing because I am christian, I take exception to their right to do it! I guess thats what causes wars. They have vowed they also wont be happy untill every jew is killed or pushed into the sea. I know the jews take exception to that too.
There are some basic items of confusion here. Here is a example. Lets say whatever religion you are belives that every one is going to hell if they arent your particular brand of religion. Now these same people might say I am not going to compell my kids to go to my church, sinogog or mosuk. I am going to let them "choose for themselves" when they get older.
First of all I have observed or "judged" if you will, that the person that makes that statement isnt that well grounded in what they belive or they wouldnt take the chance on their child not being well educated in their so called shakey belief! After all, what percentage of kids do you really think WANTS to, or WILL seek whatever religion on their own? Not many! Also what parent if they fervently belive what they claim, would risk seeing their child going to hell? Moderators, please note I dont think I have chosen a side publicly here. Let me slide?
Now, regarding as to why many super rich lean left. In my observations most of those few were born into aristockercy so to speak, and through whatever means, got even richer. Take a look at the kennedy clan. Old man joe made it mostly on booze running. None of his kids ever needed to work for a liveing. Yet they felt they just knew what paths every other person needed to take. None ever had to work at a hard job to survive as we did. Therfore none never knew the real labor involved to earn a buck.
The biggest mystery to me ISNT how the george soros and kennedy minds work, but the biggest mystery of all to me, is what or how or why the common people elect them?
In the kennedys case I belive it has pretty much been proven jack got the votes needed because old joe bought them in chicago with unions and the mob.
I belive at one time around world war two, the democrat party was about where the republican party is today in morals and values. The differance also was back then, the republicans were also comparably farther to the right as today. Both swung even farther to the left together? Hope I am writeing that as I mean to.
How can people vote for exactly what our boys died fighting against for over 200 years?
The biggest single thing that permitted this, I think, in my lifetime is that political correctness is the main factor that has gotten out of hand.
It seems everyone here includeing me, claim we value the basic right of being able to voice our opinion. YET the only ones that really do without restraint IS THE LEFT!
How many of us really dare write or say exactly what we belive out of fear that A, We will be ridiculed, and B, that it wont be printed anyway?
This thinking is just exactly what keeps fewer people on the left in power over I think, the real majority on the right!
That, plus the fact that many of us are lazy in voteing. You can bet your bottom dollar that every special intrest group will vote. By that, I mean the greenies, pro choice, gays etc, plus 999.9 % of blacks WILL vote black. That alone assured that the potus got in power. Even general powell changed partys when a black canidate ran.
Again I say, POLITICAL CORRECTNESS is our biggest danger! It keeps us shut up and gives the left full advantage.

I was 10 when the Beatles' plane landed in 1964, for their 1st visit here. My daily music usually consists of most the bands that 617X10 listed, more so than The Beatles, but that's not the point. The Beatles started that whole movement. They influenced everything about youthful culture in the 60s. Music, fashion, hair, all changed because of them. Ask any of those artists, that are still alive, who their main influences were. The Beatles. Country western artists made fun of them, as did the Rat Pack. Now most country bands have long hair and play loud rocking songs with Stratocasters. Old Blue Eyes sang Harrison's "Something". Lennon was very conceited, yet like so many entertainers, very concerned with "social justice".(What do you expect, he's a Brit!) When The Beatles would change, they would change big, yet still they were always at the top. The Rolling Stones would almost immediately change with them.(although with a little more edge.) Some of the music is literally great, while some is mediocre. To me the best was in that psychedelic era. Of course that was when I was a teenager. Love them or hate them, they were the force of rock n roll, and they changed a lot about western culture. Not for good, and not for bad, but change it they did. No music act since can touch them.
I don't care how much of a music genius he was. He was a commie and that's all I need to know. I have no respect for Paul McCartney either.

They were/are entertainers, not role models. I enjoyed all of them for what they did on stage and in film and their personal leanings had no influence on my development.
